I'm an artist, but I paint with words.My favorite colors are:
-- the black of a moonless night, sprinkled with shining bits of palest pink, glittery gold, and barest blue
-- the red of a dying, western sun below a storm-ridden sky, of a crimson petal within a newborn rose, of life that pulses beneath fragile skin
-- greys in every shade, from a dove's breast to the barrel of a .357
-- the lavender wing of a butterfly landing to kiss the angry purple bruise on a child’s knee
-- greens of living things, of glowing spring pastures and dark mysterious forests
-- the creamy yellow of fresh churned butter, and buttercups, and cups of golden beer
-- the bright orange skin of a leering Jack-o’-lantern, signifying the approach of Halloween
-- the dark brown smell of a newly-tilled soil, rich with life-giving humus
-- the blue eyes of a man who sees into my soul and loves me in spite of my many faults
