Oh, I think it is a great choice, but at the same time, Iplehouse bodies are very different from many other BJD bodies as they have different joints. Where most companies have double jointed bodies that are easy to handle (the joint is pretty much visibleat all times), the Iplehouse bodies have their joints inside the arm/leg, forcing you to pull it out before you can fully use the double joints.

HOWEVER. If it is something you can overlook (a friend said that it is somehow possible to hot glue the joints so that they can keep a "middle position"), I definitely thinks you should go for a Ryan. Because other then the joints... They are absolutely gorgeous, definitely one of the most beautiful dolls on the market, both when it comes to the face and the body.
