oH MY GOSH I COULD TALK FOR DAYS ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVE THE REMAKE ??
Gonna be a bit of spoilers about other characters/things that happen to anyone else that reads through this!
They did so well with the sounds to add to the suspense!! (And Mr. X's footsteps are A++ even though the f e a r I feel when he's right behind me) I felt like the cutscenes added a lot to the game?? And how they changed up the story seemed to flow a lot better!!
I actually felt the anxiety of being lost and trying to search a new area / using the map every chance I could to figure out what to do.,, and facing the enemies was so COOL?? Like the G-Adult dudes,, they scared the shit out of me, but whenever I learned how to deal with them, (And was able to shock the hell out of them) It just felt so rewarding
I absolutely love that the zombies are "bullet sponges" in a sense because it makes you think harder about ammo usage/avoiding tactics, etc !! And I love how the incorporated Sherry and Ada's parts in the story !! Sherry's felt very fitting, and I was honestly a bit disappointed hers was as short as it was. (I would have loved to see more of how she managed at the start of the outbreak??)
Not to mention Claire is my actual wife and I love her so mUCH LKJDL
I also found it hilarious that Leon was so shocked and "what the FUCK" at everything through the entire game
while Claire was just ",,, aww poor guy,,,," then eventually "wh a t the f u ck"
I honestly felt really connected with the characters through the game?? Their reactions felt very fitting and it just pulled me even deeper into the game //
very light spoilers for differences between Claire and Leon's scenarios below for anyone who happens to read this ljdjhk
My only true 'complaint' is that the A/B scenarios could have had more differences ;; o ;; and that it would have been better if they had at least a few more interactions like in the original!
Like I know Leon's is more about working with Ada, and Claire's is about saving Sherry, but it got a little bit repetitive if that makes sense?? (Though it won't change the fact that I'm planning to go through all of them multiple times kjsdKLJFLK)
lONG STORY SHORT I absolutely love the remake !!! I've been a huge fan of the RE games since I was a lot younger, so being dragged back into it is honestly super super nice ??

i cry over the sound design ??? its so good. ( and y e ah,, i agree mr X is already fucking scary but his footsteps as hes walking around the RPD ?? very tense and like ?? you gotta stop and just listen to him stomping about so you like dont run into him,, which is like even more terrifying oof. )
!! i havent seen the original yet ,, im working my way through the other games (watching them at least) but the change up of the opening was pretty dope tbh,, it just seemed more ?? fitting !!
oo yeah,, the zombies being like bullet sponges and not just a few bullets is i guess kinda annoying at times (if ur in bad spot ) but it seems more realistic in a way?? bc i feel like it would be hard to take down a zomzom unless u get a straight headshot lol. also ,,, the details of the zombies are so good too... all the enemies like the lickers look so good,, scary!! but good. ( i hate the lickers though ; _ ; )
!!! ive seen ppl say sherry little side of the story was dumb and boring ?? but it's like,, super interesting like what a child would make of this crazy situation you know ? bc all the other characters are adults and stuff and you expect to have control somewhat over the situation you're in and it!! is nice to see a change of gameplay style ,, and like have your weapons taken away from u as claire and deal w/ smth different !!

leon is in a constant mood of what the fuck and claire is like ,, 'imma fuckin fight everyone' and ,, witty comments galore ,, love her.
!! yeah i agree, i did kinda expect for similar things to be done though.. but it would be cool to like have leon and claire interact more tbh ; _ ; !! or have a section where they met together and take out some zomzoms all badass and stuff.
tbh!! i heard of RE before and had seen parts of re2 ,, and re4 mainly ?? (which im going through and id die for leon still,, hes great in re4) but the remake was coming out so i like kinda decided to watch that through and then ,, i was hooked lol !! its super interesting and cool ;w;

Yesyes !! Like,, in my Leon run I had like,,, 2 handgun ammo, and like 4 shotgun and it was around when I had to activate Mr. X (those cerberus took a large chunk of my ammo oOF) so it was super intense??
but,, I guess I find that to be super thrilling ?? working around where you're struggling the most !! + whenever you get a critical shot and you take them down in like 1 or 2 bullets it just?? feels so rewarding??

And even through a lot of the gameplay is the same for Leon and Claire, it's the actions like that?? that make me see the huge differences in their stories!!
Leon was (probably) agitated when Annette made him fight WB, but Claire just did it so Annette wouldn't have to??
