Way many years ago (15?) I built the simple mechanical bits for the turret workings of a battleship - in Lego.  This was not for any particular battleship, but what I did was create - all in Lego - the skeleton frame for the forecastle and then back to the midships of the ship.  I then built up the command tower and on its backside added a Lego steering wheel.  This I connected to various poles and gears - all in Lego - over to the barbettes for A and B turrets.  I forget what I did for the two turrets.  I think I did a four barrel turret for A and then a two barrel turret for B.  If you look at the HMS Prince of Wales or HMS King George V you'll see what I was heading for.  I then did the connections so that if I turned the little steering wheel on the backside of the superstructure that the two turrets turned.  I think I had one backwards, due to the arms and gears available to me, but both turned.  I then went back and started on the deck and hull.  But somewhere at this point disaster happened.  I forget what it was but the entire thing was broken up and put away.  I should have taken a picture!  Oh well.  Anyway, good luck to you sir!
