In Japan it is. I watched the movie at the Japanese Information and Culture Center. It was in Japanese with English subtitles. At the Culture Center someone stands up front to say some things about the movie. The said it was based on the mobile game. The title of the movie is Neko Atsume House. Itβs about a writer who has writerβs block and he decides to go to countryside and rent a house for a change of scenery. While heβs there he notices that stray cats like to visit and he puts out food bowls and toys for them. The toys are real life versions of toys from the game.

It was! Lots of cute kitties! What was funny was one scene where his editor was coming to see if he had completed the next chapter. He still had all the kitty toys all over the yard and he was trying to put them away before she got to the door. Iβve since looked up the game and been hooked ever since.
