Ryuko is the main protagonist and a 17-year-old vagrant schoolgirl who transfers to Honnouji Academy in search of clues relating to the death of her father. She wields the Scissor Blade (片太刀バサミ Kata Tachi Basami?), one-half of a giant pair of scissors created by her father, with the other half stolen by his killer. Her weapon is capable of destroying uniforms empowered by Life Fibers.[ep 1] At the start of the series, she acquires a special "Kamui" uniform named Senketsu, which grants her special abilities.[ep 1] She lives with the Mankanshoku family.[ep 2] During the battle at the Honnouji Academy Cultural & Sports Grand Festival, it is revealed that Ryuko is Ragyo's presumed dead daughter and Satsuki's younger sister. Ryuko was merged with Life Fibers when Ragyo Kiryuin performed an experiment to fuse Life Fibers into humans.

A young girl approached the academy, dressed in a simple jacket and shorts. She blinked, looking at the structure of the building, and couldn't help but laugh. Begining to doubt that this was the academy she was looking for, Senpai approached the enterance and looked at the sign. Honouji Academy. The teenager nodded to herself and walked inside. She looked quite normal compared to the other students there, slightly tanned skin, glasses, black hair..
As she walked inside the gates, she gulped as he saw no students. The academy was a wasteland, and there were no people to be found. It was as if the academy was a battleground. ' What have I just walked into? ', she thought to herself, feeling stupid for dragging herself into this.

Except for one girl. She was sitting on one of the benches eating her lunch. She looked lonely , and kinda hurt. Well she was , bruises , scars , and a weird looking sailor suit. She had half of a tiny scissor next to her , deep , blood red. She didnt look to happy..poor thing. She ate rather fast , chopsticks clicking. White rice , beef , broccoli , and carrots all together.

Not willing to give up on the seemingly destroyed academy, Senpai took a deep breath and yelled, " Hey! Is there anybody here? I-I'm a transfer student! "
As her voice echoed throughout the vast landscape, Senpai waited patiently for an answer. Sadly she had none and sat down on a large rock, feeling slightly hopeless and depressed. Had she come all this way for nothing?

"Im here." She said , without much emotion. She set down her lunch and chewed then swallowed. "Need any help?" She asked , standing up as she put the scissor in her pocket.

Senpai blinked, and quickly came to her senses. She put a smile on her face. At last she found another girl; lately all the people she had been interacting with were creepy guys. " Erm, I was transfered to this place, but I honestly don't know why.. I mean-- there's nothing special bout' me. ", she confessed, scratching the back of her head in a slightly embarrassed manner.

" Welp , i gotta go." She sighed as she took the last bite of her lunch and stuffed it in her bag. "Meet me right here once i'm back!" She yelled as he ran rather fast near the boom as she climbed up the ladders and such , jumping over them and running,

Ryuko had kept running , as she climbed up the tallest building and jumped down. She had turned into another uniform in midair , as she already knew it's time to fight whatever beings it was.

Leaping onto the building and starting to climb down, she turned toward Ryuko, and her brown eyes widened at the sight of Senketsu. " What is that? ", she breathed.

Ryuko sat at the beach, as she started to talk to her sailor outfit, Senketsu. Many people stared at her and gave her weird looks, but she didn't mind. She laughed and giggled as Senketsu made funny jokes and good times at the academy.

Syiren was wondering around the beach, and happen to notice a girl with black hair
and red highlights talking to her uniform. She was curious on why the girl was talking to a uniform, she
also happen to notice the people around her gawking at her weirdly. No one said anything to her, so she
kindly skipped along up to the girl and spoke shyly, "H-hello there.. excuse me I don't mean to be rude but
why are you talking to that uniform exactly? Her attention started to get focused that peculiar uniform.

And this Blade I wield is what my father was killed with, right now im trying to kill whoever killed him, but since my academy is filled with battles..I can't have anytime to look. But yeah, I have a talking sailor outfit and oversized scissor blade. Totally normal!" Ryuko laughed a bit, blush I ng slightly.
