admitedly, the shot is definitely grainy... i was on ISO 400 film at the time and even in the best of lighting conditions, you're bound to get some grain, and the sun was definitely hiding behind a lot of overcast clouds during that shot, so the grain would be a little more pronounced.

I dont see multicoloured grain though, and i added very little saturation (about +5), and that too only to get it up to what the actual photo looks like. but that's what you get when you scan a print though - a definite loss in quality. well, with my scanner anyway. gotta make do as best as i can.

Thanks Igor, for comenting on 'Innominate Tarn'. This place was the favorite place of the late 'Alfred Wainwright' the Lakeland writer...He had his ashes spread over the mountain here. The tarn is called Innominate Tarn because they couldn't find a name good enough to do it justice!

I am so so sorry that I messed up your avvie.

In response, I don't know why so many people liked it either.

I did use Photoshop for some levels adjustments. I always specify what adjustments have been made in the Description; guess you didn't see that? I never use hue/saturation/brightness/contrast because levels can do all of it, and still retain all the original color information - good PS tip, though you don't sound very enthused with Photoshop, so you probably wouldn't appreciate it as much as I do. What do you have against Photoshop, if I may ask?

And yep, it came out somewhat grainy... not because of the levels, but because of the poor lighting. I was disappointed to find that... will have to retry sometime with better light. But thanks to honest people like yourself, I'll be able to improve my work.

Anyway, sorry you didn't take to it the way the others did, and thanks again for your input!
