About Nyx and the armor:
My thoughts are that whenever the children are in her presence she wears it(and the eyeshadow) to meet the expectations of Nexus and the Children of Nightmare.
Times after she raises the sun when she wears it:
near the end of chapter 15 when she reclaims her treasure book.
Most of chapter 16, except when she's in her bedroom after twilight attacks her.
All of chapter 17 and 18(until after defeating the lupus major)
