Ooo that sucks. Well, the snow will be gone relatively soon.
Oh well its understandable if I don't, but would be cool if I could haha.
Yea she likes college sooooooo much better than high school. Then again, I think most people do.

Mm, everyone thinks the snow will be gone soon, but that's a lie. People say it's going to last until at least March.
That's not generally true. Some people like High school better because there isn't responsibility involved. College is mostly good for people who wanted to or did grow up to early.

I know, once I got here I definably didn't. Although a lot of my classes feel the same it's a completely different environment. I love picking my own schedule, it'a really nice.

Ugh, I can't wait to go do that. I have orientation on March 24 and thats when I get to pick classes. I was looking the other day and I never really realized how many ridiculous and pointless classes they have.

You wouldn't believe, there are some that are ridiculous, strange or just fun. I'm in this class called adventure and wildlands, all we do is hike and talk about adventure. There is also a class called Broadway, you just sit there and watch Broadway shows and talk about them. It's just nice picking classes so you can sleep in and have breaks and such.

Oh my gosh those sound like awesome classes. I wonder if they have a Broadway class here... Well I get to pick them out soon so hopefully I can find one that sounds as cool as adventure and wildland haha.

Yeah, I was going to take the Broadway class but it was at eight in the morning, and that wasn't worth it. But there are many very strange and cool classes. It's fun to pick out your own classes.I think I sign up for the fall semester in less than a month. So you can't be far behind either.

Haha I told my sister about the Broadway class and she is very upset that we don't have that class here. Yea, I still need to go through the massive course catalog. After the first semester if you have good grades you can start a double major and I think thats what I'm going to do. I'm thinking History and American Indian Studies which are so closely related and have so many of the same classes that it would be stupid of me not to for how much I'm paying to be there. Oh yea, did I tell you I got the Provost? I don't remember if I did or not, but they still gave it to me even with a 26 on my ACT. Crazinessssss.

Our catalog is very easy. It's all online, you just select the major area or the requirement and it automatically searches. I can double dip on a lot of stuff, especially the art history classes, it's going to be nice. It's always good to do something like that, you might as well take advantage. I officially declared my major on Thursday to printmaking. I heard these rumors that it might get cut so I ran over and declared it. They told me it hasn't been decided yet but that if I declared it now I could make it my major, that I would be the last year aloud. Ya, you told me about the scholarship, but it still must be an amazing relief. I got a lot of money too. Between my parents and I we only have to pay a couple thousand a semester and we split it three ways. So that's going pretty well. I just did my FAFSA again, we'll see how that goes.

Erg sorry it keeps taking me so long to reply. I had three ridiculous tests this week and have been studying like a mad woman.
Oh you're lucky. The ASU catalog is ridiculous, you can't search far anything (at least not right now). Oh thats cool, what exactly do you do in printmaking? Its good that you got to it now before its gone. Yea it was weird because last year Ashli filled out her FAFSA and didn't get any money and I got around $1400 for mine. I think I'll use most of what I have extra as rent payments haha.
Oh and I was going to ask you, is there any chance you'll be out here on the 13th? I'm having my birthday thing that day and it would be really cool if you could come.

Ah, everything's all good. I had a week like that a little back, I was sooo stressed out.
I don't even know all exactly what it is to an extent, I still haven't taken any classes. They are impossible to get into. What I know right now is that my school does things the old fashioned way. There is an old printing press, basically the material you draw on is a slab of stone. Then you you use oils to draw on the slab and use water to change the color, fine tune or erase things. A screen, i think,is tapped on and only the ink is projected onto the paper. Basically it is the old means of copying. I just like it 'cause it's strange. Also remember my Zebra project, where I carved that rubber? That is also a form of printmaking.
That's kind of strange with you and Ashli, my guess is either you turned yours in earlier or maybe your parents' revenue changed. Your lucky you have "extra money", I'm just barley squeezing by.
Sorry, I won't be able to come down, I have this class that ends then. I have to go on a final hike for the class.
Oh I have other news. I'll be coming down once more before summer to see my parents. I'll tell you when it is when I figure it out so we can get together. So the news is I am most likely going to be in Hawaii all summer with Matt. We have worked out everything, it's amazing.

Whoa, that sounds really interesting. Time consuming, but interesting.
I have no idea why. I think since Ashli was the first one to go they figured my parents had enough that they could give her but since I'm the second my parent's already used all of their extra money on her first. Well I don't know if I'll have any extra money at all soon, they're thinking of raising the tuition to over $8,000. If they do, I will be soooooo pissed.
Aw, oh well. If you have class, you have class. I'm doing a scavenger hunt around the mall and teams have to bring back items, take pictures, and make videos. Then later we're going to play Apples to Apples and have a silly string fight. I'm really excited.
Oh cool, yea just text me or whatever when you find out when. We haven't hung out in forever (it seems like its been almost a year, maybe?) so that'll be really cool. Thats so cool! You guys seem pretty serious if you're spending the whole summer with him haha.

brickwalls In reply to sing-a-long [2010-02-23 04:45:41 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel about it too.
I don't think it works like that exactly. They don't look into that sort of thing, my guess is your parents just have less money because of Ashli going to college and as a result they give you more money. I don't even remember how much tuition I paid, I actually try not to pay attention so I can't worry about it.
That sounds like lots of fun. My mom used to do scavenger hunts at my birthdays when I was a kid, she was brilliant at them. It was always fun. I have played hide and go seek tag in the mall though, we hid at build a bear. It was really funny, we were crouching in a corner and they were singing that song they do when they put the stuffed animals heart in and the kids were staring at us like we were on crack. I was Gothic at the time and had green hair, which I think didn't help.
It feels like I've had so much drama that you haven't heard yet. It's weird to even have it in the first place. I guess I never told you about my first kiss or anything, it wasn't with Matt either. It's weird, we'll have to catch up.
Yeah we are serious. Mom said it's not the way a first relationship should be. We basically live together. My roommate is gone so we have the room to ourselves. I even pushed the beds together so I have a king size bed. All the stuff he cares about is here, so basically he is living here. Actually right now he's playing his X BOX 360 right next to me.

Ugh I don't even want to think about this whole college money thing. I'll just learn to deal with it if or when it comes.
I think it will be a lot of fun. Yea I think that would weird out a lot of people haha. So since we didn't save up enough plane tickets for us all to fly somewhere this year for spring break we are using all of my dad's credit card points on 2-day park hopper passes to Disneyland and California Adventure. We're leaving the day after my birthday and I'm so excited. I just hope I don't get sick again haha.
I think there is a lot of drama I haven't heard yet. You'll have to update me when I see you next, it sounds interesting. You guys sound so cute. I've never even seen the guy and it just really sounds like you guys are, like, set.

Yeah, this money thing was a shocker to me, but only because I don't have a job. I'm always used to having money, and some of my fees are ridiculous.
That sounds fun, I never had park hopper tickets so I've never been to California adventure. I actually like Disneyland because I can handle the rides ( I hate real roller coasters).
Um, lets see is I can attach a picture. We look like dorks, but whatever.

Ugh I know what you mean. Orientation alone cost $250.
Haha really? I thought you would be the kind of person who loved roller coasters. I'm so going on every ride I can, even the little kiddie ones haha.
Awww! You guys are so cute! I thought he would look different though, but I always do that with people.

ASU is the only one that I've heard of that is that bad, mine cost like $50-100.
Nah, I've always hated them. I can only handle the kiddie ones.
Yeah, I do that too. Plus it's always hard to imagine people just right.

Hey!
Haha...Yea... About that...No. :/ I haven't started anything. I've gotten a bunch of ideas though. More for concentration than anything... I still haven't picked what I want to do for that!
For the two homework things I am still at a total loss for the self portrait. The fave artist one though I do have a vague idea in mind I just have to start a draft of it or at least attempt too...
I really wish I was farther. :/ I have been goingt o work with my mom for the last two weeks so that has taken up a tooooon of time. And I just got the book we are supposed to read yesterday.
Anyways, have you done anything? Haha.

Haha yea I reaaaalllllyyy have to get started on the sketchbook assignments. I TOTALLY forgot about those...
I started reading some last night then figured I should stop since I had to get up so early. I usually fall asleep when I read too haha (even though its like one of my most favorite things ever). I was just reading some and it is good I'm just having weird concentration issues lately.
I have sooooooo many ideas for concentration. I can't pick just one. You should watch some of your favorite movies, thats what inspired a lot of my ideas.
I made a whole Inspiration section in my favorites on here. It really helps get my brain going, you should try it.
Oh! I totally know an illustrator you would love! . There website is [link] . They do alot of character designs and a bunch of awesome creature things. Its a bunch of different artists but they are all reaaalllyy good. I really think you will like them.
Yea the self portrait thing is ridiculous! I have no idea what to do. :/ That is a good idea to ask other people though. I totally know what you mean about not being able to see yourself. I would never be able to describe myself either, I really have no idea what I would say. I might just have to steal your idea and ask people haha.
Hopefully soon both of our brains start working a little better haha.

im thinking of using them
hehe
but idk about my sketched :\. since i havent done anything in my sketchbook. Everything is on poster paper or already cut out and waiting for school to start.
i was gonna do this whole world creation thing, but i could do it anymore :[ i lost the touch to it.
but yeah imma 'bout to put a journal to see what people say
lets hope we get everything done before school :] (which we will) >:3
