HI! y read your note "how do you acomplish the black background and the sharp contrast in your latest photos?"

Well, about black backgrounds is easy.. two ways...
One thing i use is a black fabric background, which have no reflections, and it makes the work more easy to do, i can almost forget about shadows and reflections on it, and really play as i want with the lights.

Other way is to ensure about the difference of light between the backround and the subject, its easier to do with a hand lightmeter... but if you dont have one, u can do it with the one u have on your camera, just point it to the backround, and measure it, and then putting it near the subject, so u could be sure about the amount of light on it, and set the lights so u could have a big difference between the light on them.

about lights, i usually use fluorescent lights (which are cheap, and cold lights), tungsten, flash, and natural lights whenever i can... and many times mix them to have some good feeling on the picture, as they have different temperatures (colors) i could have a good effect.
