Eeeeh still kickin' it seems. Well. I would be if my legs were not dead tired out of all the marching and physical training we are put through in military service. It started just 3 weeks ago.  Good thing we can spend weekends at home (like this) usually. In the end it kinda like the worst school you've ever been in and lasts half a year. Well... If you are not put in officer school or other special unit that is.
All in all life is good.

Damn, that sounds pretty intense!
I'm studying 3D design, digital illustration and fine art at college. I'm on my last year of that and it's been pretty decent so far. 
Military service is compulsory for you, isn't it?

Yep. It's compulsory for men (oh snap now internet knows my super secret gender!). There are ways to work around it like pretending to have mental issues or being part of religion that forbids military service but usually things like that are either hard to achieve or just bites you in the butt in the end. All in all it's like 6 months of compulsory summer camp where you actually have to do what you are told. And it's winter and cold as heck. On the bright side, the first month is almost over and then I only have 5 months left!
Anyway, I assume British schools are pretty brutal like they tend to be in everywhere that is not Finland. I've been thinking of going back to school after military service. I'd like to go to IT and from that continue towards Game Development. With such studies I am hoping that even if I can't get to the gaming industry, I could get a profession as an IT expert which would also help my hobby as a gamer.
As for art I am still doodling but I doubt it will become nothing more than a hobby. You are taking a bit of a risk with your line of study I think but with hard work I am sure it'll pay off.

Maaan, i'd really hate to have to do something like that!
I'm at a college, so I'm only in 3 days a week and it isn't that brutal. I think the hardest thing is staring at a computer screen all day doing 3D modelling or writing some dumb essays. Getting into IT or game development sounds pretty fun! I hope you have fun studying it when you're done

Oh it won't be. Gaming industry is fucking brutal. You must be about the best there is to even have a chance to get in to schools, not to mention get through them. Then the industry itself hardly ever rewards all the blood, sweat and tears you put into your work. The only reason any person gets to industry is pretty much pure love for games.
...which gets constantly stomped on when you can't do the games you want and the way you want. And let's not forget the deadlines that make sure you can't completely finish the game. Then you see your name forever scrolling in the credits of Sonic '06 2.0.
I guess if I can handle military, I am mentally ready for the gaming industry
