I used to be a proud lankan, but now, I'm more than ashamed to say i'm Lankan..
this damn temple opposite my house has been playin loud ass music all day yesterday, and today started playing gaathas loud as well... called the cops but they wont do anything about it... more and more and more reasons keep comin up for me to leave this dump...
This is such a beautiful country, but the people just keep messing it up over and over, always squabbling... if someone can give me 5 good reasons why people would want to live (and work) here, not including "its your homeland" etc, i'd be more than suprised....

2. You have a varied choice of climates to choose from... from the incredibly hot Colombo to cold climes of Haputale, and everything in between.
3. Free unrestricted access to some of the worlds best beaches... all around the country

2. True, but if you happen to move out of Colombo, the services you get are shit... Say if I lived in Aussie, I could move from Cairns to Melbourne etc and have the same effect... however, i'd much rather be in a place which has seasons, the same shit all the time is annoyin
3. I totally agree, our beaches are great! except for the fact that most of the ones within a reasonable distance are covered wit slippers, bags, condoms etc.
