Hello

How're you? I hope you had a great birthday!

Have you started your uni project yet? Also, remember I got that print of yours, the one with Chihuahua Kettle? I gave it to my brother for his birthday, and he loved it! It's already up on his wall

Best wishes
Mel

HI
how are you?!
i did thankyou! yay 19 now (at last)

and nooooooooooo, have you? i have quite a few ideas kicking round...but i'm making myself busy with other stuff so i haven't started anything anyway yet
....same old story

and oh WOW! ahaha that's so great, i'm glad he liked it XD

I'm all right

I've got an idea; I want to make a series of drawings/paintings on the back of my business cards, and present them in my business card holder. I mean, a business card is what you use to present yourself, and that's what this project is about, right? I don't know, maybe it's lame.

Did you get your certificate in the post yet? I got mine today So awesome to see it all official.

sugar-cube-faerie In reply to mosieart [2009-08-06 22:06:10 +0000 UTC]

Yay!
it sounds good! what sort of thing were you thinking of drawing on them? i can't wait to see all the new people and what they do for the project

yeah i got it just half an hour ago, it's all shiny looking XD, i've just got back, me and my sis went to Bristol for the day by train, my railcard is awesome it makes things so cheap, and i use it to get discount in shops now ur uni cards expired
we went to the Bansky exhibition and then shopping (the art gallery has an AMAZING lot of taxidermy! i really think we should go there as a trip with uni)

how is ur summerhouse thing going? btw my mum is sort of enquiring about maybe getting some one to help with tali (sort of a help out and get to ride thing)
and maybe u might be interested??? it's all very sketchy at the mo ????but i vouched for you and said u were very reliable and nice

Different things, I don't know, that bit is more fuzzy!

Suggest it to Jen, she'll probably say yes! Thinking of uni trips, are you going to go to Amsterdam?

I put off the Summerhouse thing until I could drive there myself - after having thought about it, I realized I didn't want to spend ages on the bus through the summer! Helping with Tali would be very cool and I'd love to, but like the Summerhouse thing, I probably shouldn't put myself forward for that until I can get there independently! Though I still haven't managed to get a full license. How is your driving going?

It's cool you can use the railcard in stores - does it say student on it?

sugar-cube-faerie In reply to mosieart [2009-08-08 13:04:42 +0000 UTC]

hahaha she probably would! and of course i am are u? just need to get the money :0 heeeeeeeeelllo loan

that's sensible, have you started lessons again then yet? my dad a few weeks back said he saw a driving school car that was a KA and i thought of you, but he couldn't remember the name....apparently it was a guys name, but's there's loads of them!.........but at least they exist locally :\
mah driving is gonna good think.....i've got my theory next Thursday and my instructor said i should be ready for my test in October!!!....though omg i'm not sure, that seems very quick to me, i'd love to pass first time though obviously!

nooo...i'm still not sure about all shops doing it but it has my face and an expiry date on it so i guess it might depend on the sales assistant, cause technically it's not a student card just a young persons railcard...but it does say natwest on the case, cause i got it though a student bank account ...who knows

Near the start of the summer break, Mum agreed to help fund lessons after I get back from my aunts, and I go to hers week after next. But I have been driving PuddleJumper a lot, which is nice. We got me signed up for a Tesco clubcard today so I could earn points on all the fuel we're putting in her!

Hopefully by the end of September I'll apply for a test.

Oooh October! If you're ready there's no point putting it off!

I don't know about Amsterdam. It's never been on my 'to visit' list, and certain parts of it's reputation are putting me off it as a place to go. But on the other hand, from the info uni sent we're on a street near museums and also near the zoo and aquarium (heee!) and Berlin was fun, so Amsterdam should be fun too.

Yeah, roll on student loan! I wonder when we find out if the loan's been okayed etc?

sugar-cube-faerie In reply to mosieart [2009-08-10 17:20:20 +0000 UTC]

that's really nice of your mum i have my clubcard on petra'a keys so when we fill up it's points AHOY! it's a good plan

i really hope u pass this time, u deserve to by now! we need to dope u up so u will be behondddddd mellow

HAHAHA yeah Amsterdam does have a reputation for certain things, but it's also a pretty place. Berlin was awesome so i'm guessing this should be good too XD

i got my letter confirming the amount for my loan a few weeks ago, then last week a letter about when it will go into my bank, i was really surprised how quick it was and without a hitch (after all the horror stories i'd heard!) but i guess my situation is pretty straight forward....either that or the amount of N/A's i put everywhere (i said they rue they asked for no blank spaces), i'm sure u should get a letter soon, if u haven't heard anything yet.

Yeah it is nice of her

I keep meaning to pick up that Rescue Remedy stuff when I'm in town, but either I forget or they just have the lozenge version, and I'd prefer the direct version. It's supposed to be good at keeping you calm...

I think I probably will go, mostly because Berlin was awesome and fun so Amsterdam should be too!

I got a letter yesterday about the loan schedule and Monday about the amount, which is nice to know - means I've been able to do my budget sheet for the next year already!

Can't wait for term to start, not that I've started the holiday project yet! XD

Yes! Having space is going to be great. I like that we've been told to bring stuff we find inspirational to put in our spaces. And we'll get to meet the rest of the class

As part of my room-purging process (two massive bin bags and three small bin bags out and counting! And that's without going through my art stuff) I have ended up with a wall of random stuff stuck up around some framed Ursula Vernon prints and an Alison Reed original. It's fun, isn't it?

Are there any particular artists/pieces you'd want to bring into your uni studio space?

Despite having freaked out at Mum over the massive debt and time commitment all of an hour ago, I really am looking forward to this, it's going to be awesome!

And hey, maybe if it's a home from home it'll be easier to work in the studio this year?

haha that sounds really cool, i should really tidy my room, we are doing a car boot this sunday so that might be a good chance

i duuunno, i'm always collecting things i like so i will just gather it all together and see what i have. it will be funny to see if they link or have similar themes or something. But it's all so lovely and inspiring so it will be good to be surrounded by it
hey the reminds me i found someone awesome i think u might like too, mum and dad bought a print of the net a while back (of a horse naturally) and last week they meet her by surprise when she had a stand at a horse trail, she does wonderful animal pictures, i'll show u her brochure next time i see u if u like but, u could look her up, she's called Kate Wyatt but u can find her at collierdobson.com
she gives all the country animal watercolours posh old sounding names, i really like her hares ones

i really really hope that's the case! i'm determined to be better from now on

help me?

sugar-cube-faerie In reply to kankakanka [2009-07-23 19:18:38 +0000 UTC]

hahaha i thought you said desserts at first mmmmmmmmmmmmm knicker blocker gloryyyyyyyyyyy

but ok, er....what about if you pretend you used to live in afica, then you could draw them
or you could use it as a metaphor for your home somehow, if u were feeling smart....but i really don't understand that myself

sorry i sucks???
i can't see any link between 'your home' and 'desert'
which sucks maybe you should just do it anyway
i'm sure it would be good, so Jen wouldn't mind
i wanna just do something random as well

i want to but i am seriously broke at the mo after a blow out in London so i'm thinking i shouldn't! i might just have to rely on my memory....which isn't great thanks to cider D:
cool u got one, which day did u get then? your have to let me know what it's like

Aw, shame. There's tons of videos on youtube up anyway. 8D

I got the Thursday, the first day @ Hyde Park, but I was told Friday was so much better. Oh well, it's only 16.95 for 24 songs, but it's a download. Shipping's really expensive if I get the actual CDs.

sorry to keep bothering you bout this but I just saw some vids on the Friday gig.
Holy GOD, that was borderline violent! Bottles were thrown everywhere (Which is actually hilarious seeing them bounce off people's heads)and lots of drunks thrashing about. SCARY. Glad to see you're okay.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sugar-cube-faerie In reply to Floreyn [2009-07-14 23:00:02 +0000 UTC]

HAHAHA it's not bothering, it's nice to have someone to talk about it with on here it was a great day!
and I KNOW! and i was in that! some people said they want a t-shirt printed that says 'i survived Hyde park'
at first i thought the bottles were glass but after what happened i'm glad they were just imitated glass, though as we left we did see half a bottle of scotch on the floor, that WOULD have hurt!
i'm just glad i was to happy and tipsy to notice, would have been miffed if it ruined my fun! i think i was pretty lucky to just be slightly bruised...silly drunks XD
