I took a look at your gallery and I must say: I love your Ginga fanarts! The mix of realism while still keeping the characters close to their anime-selves is just wonderful! I really really love 'em! And your way of shading dogs' fur is also super awesome!

I would like to learn to do that kind of fur shading, so I was wondering if you could recommend me some tutorials or... idk, do you have any technique or method for it? any tips or suggestions?

I did alot of observing other artists way of shading and tried out their different methods by myself, I'm still learning, that's why sometimes my shading isn't always the same on my drawings.
I will try and explain the best I can. So I sometimes use different shading methods, the most common one i use is this one:
Let's say you have a character who is black and white;
I fill in the original colors but in a darker shade, so the white part of it is more like grey and the black one is just really dark. then I go over it again but
this time I paint a lighter shade of white over the grey using a low density airbrush, but I keep some of the grey on spots where the light doesn't hit
(that's the shading).Β
I do the same with the black part of it all, I use a lighter shade of black (more like a dark grey) and fill in where the light will hit the character, leaving some ofΒ
that original dark color as the officiall shading.
And that's pretty much how I do it, sometimes I go over it again putting darker shading throughout the whole character on tiny spots like behind the ears etc. just like in this one:Β
