Hi! So I'm trying to come up with a concept for an original property, hopefully an animated web show. I've been deliberating this for a while, and I really think your work is an example of what I'm looking for. I'll just proceed to briefly outline/pitch the series in a slapdash, amateurish manner.
It takes place on an alien world that has some more or less direct paralells to Earth, but also has unique things to it. The inhabitants are these cartoony bug guys that inhabit these big underground vistas as well as the surface. Their technology is mainly steampunk-inspired, which would also apply to more modern things like tablets, which have green, static-y displays and clunky power switches. The story mainly leans on lighthearted Saturday morning cartoon fare, but there will be plenty of moments where it goes into dark territory. I'm still trying to work things out, but I have vague ideas about some of the locales and scenarios I want. I've tried sketching some of these concepts myself, but I don't have much of a head for backgrounds/structures, and my own efforts have been pretty mediocre so far.
I've never done anything like this before, so I'm not entirely sure how this will go down, but in the meantime, I'd just like to know if you're interested?

Basically, I'm asking if you can come up with and illustrate visual concepts for different environments, vehicles, equipment, things that make the civilization in this story work. I'd of course be willing to pay you, as well as give you proper credit if and when this thing gets off the ground.
I'd fill you in on some more details and ask about how you'd want to handle things on your end, but I kinda need some time to recuperate after working full-time retail throughout the holiday season. Once I'm rested up, I can continue discussion if you're interested.
