hea hea hea, so I need to know a bit about the art program at RRCC, I was planning on attending CSU but it ends up they just aren't right for the way I want to go about my art education. Did you get to take art classes your first year? and is it more of a general education with some art in it or is more art biased? I took a look at the class catalog but it didn't really let me know any of that.

it's okay. the photo department is really small, but dedicated. you can take art classes your first year.
they just give you a list of required classes, and you figure out how to fulfill them. i've already taken 4 photos, and i'm halfway to my degree. the only problem is that there just aren't very many other photographers here, so the interaction and constructive criticism is kind of disappointing. it'd be great to have someone like you around to help with the whole "brainstorming" business.

Hey, I noticed that in most of your photography you leave out vivid greens, even in alpha-u, where the foreground is grass, the effects seems to drain the life from it and leave it greyed. Does removing it serve a higher purpose in your art?

i tend to fade the greens and accentuate the reds/yellows because that's the way old prints react to age. photos are a view onto a world that's already dead and gone, and i want to convey that in my work. hence, i want the image to feel aged, faded.
