They're from an animal shelter for exotic pets (given away or rescued) and wild animals in Germany. Some of them can't be reintroduced to the wild for they have color variations with which they would likely be shot quite soon.

It's because hunting foxes is still very popular in europe =/ If a hunter saw a fox with that color running around, he might likely plan to shoot it. But, those special colored foxes haven't been born in the wild, so they couldn't be reintroduced either way ><

Most colour morphs have originally been bred for fur industry I fear, but of course not the ones in the animal shelter. I don't know where they got them from, but they only breed if a zoo asks for it. Do you know Luccistar here on DA? I think she really knows everthing there is to know about colour morphs =>
