Still working on it. The shadowcast group I'm in just got me the paintball helmet this sunday. Trying to work out how to reinforce the round section up top so the leather(acquired via many old goodwill purse purchases) will hold up without instantly breaking when someone picks it up. Once the show is done Im gonna put up pictures of everything; Nathan's double-ended blade, the bodyguard's weapons, Rotti's 1911, the zydrate gun, and the Repo man helmet.

Electro-luminescent lighting is a hell of a thing. The glow came together really well. Though I recently(as in 20min ago) found out that my 'inspiration' was the photobucket of the actual costumer and prop designer. Little wonder I was having such a time getting things like what I was seeing.

I'm on the fence about it, but I keep being reminded by my SO, parents and friends that what I consider 'half-assed' is better than a lot of people's concerted effort. The top assembly there just used a bit from the spray gun rather than the three-o-ring-esque top, and the needle bit is just a bunch of steel-epoxy-putty around an electrical tester. I just couldn't find the right soldering iron tip that wasn't $45 Still, I do appreciate the positive vibes there dude, totes. Your costume for the Repoman is awesome, its one of the ones that made me go 'Ok, gonna do more than a paintball mask painted black'

I hear you there.  I've not cosplayed in some time, but when I did I let my perfectionism drive me crazy.  I made a couple of Zydrate guns too, both of them far smaller than the actual prop. Funny thing, I recently found a bag in a box of stuff I hadn't gone through in forever.  Apparently I started a third, properly sized one,  put it away in progress, and forgot all about it.  Just yesterday I found one of my old glowing Zydrate tubes and found that the light still worked... but the blue hair gel had evaporated and left just a tiny remnant with the glitter, LOL.  One thing I found I liked for the tip was an assortment of glue gun tips I found at Goodwill once that included a long hollow one,  almost like a very thick hypodermic needle.

Thank you for your positive vibes as well!  I still have my repo coat and props,  every now and then I dust off the coat and wear it out just for fun.  Never fails to get a compliment, even if the people looking don't actually know about Repo.
