Well, considering Locke is one of the very popular characters from the Final Fantasy Universe, I can see why you'd probably feel a little reluctant to make fun of him but rest assured the vast majority of us Fans do have a very good sense of humour (well, I know I do anyway)

Besides, I make fun of my favourite characters all the time anyway. It'll be pretty boring if I just kept praising them 24/7.

lol No, I don't have a fear of DENTISTS, just a fear of metal touching my teeth. As bad as I need work done, half of me is glad I don't have money or dental insurance... You have to knock me out. The novicane shots only work enough to pull a tooth. In terms of drilling, even on the novicane, I still feel pain almost like a burning sensation and with the smell of it, I just panic.... But yea, I totally need work BADLY. I have half a missing front tooth, need a cleaning, one molar pulled, on filling fixed and then the rest need cavity detail. I haven't actually been to a dentist for anything but an extraction in 10 years. I haven't been able to afford it. TT_TT OH! And the WEIRDEST thing. O_O only one corner of ONE of my wisdom teeth has poked through... It's not doing anything else...

But I totally give you props for being one... I could never stand to have a job like that.... *shivers*

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about your dental anxieties. Have you considered visiting your dentist on a routine basis (at least once annually)? The more often and regularly you visit your dentist the more likely your problems are diagnosed and treated much sooner as to prevent major problems like broken teeth, root canals, or extractions.

Another thing to consider if your insurance will cover is either nitrous oxide (aka laughing gas) or Valium taken for each treatment visit. Both are effective medications for calming those nerves. Hope this helps!

Well, at the moment, I don't actually HAVE a dentist. I haven't had one since I was booted out of foster care and lost my medical insurance.

The last time a dentist tried doing a simple cleaning and exam with that little metal hook thing, I tried as hard as I could to not panic, but ended up doing so, elbowed him in the face as I jumped out of the chair, hyperventilating and I left the building in tears, canceling my next appointment. I TRY and TRY to keep myself calm, but it just doesn't seem to work, all logic just fails...

Last year and this year, I've had a tooth pulled, but only with the help of CCAP. Because I pretty much had only half a molar both times, (the most recent was actually the day of the Japan quake, interestingly enough, boy, what a day THAT was.) they covered simple extractions. I CANNOT afford even simple cleanings... I haven't had money for a LONG time and I can't even afford the cheapest insurance out there.

My current worry is the furthest molar back on the upper left side. It's actually broken in such a manner that the three sharp edges are constantly cutting the inside of my cheek open. But since CCAP changed how they do things, I have to pay $40 (I donno if THAT went up along with the doctor sliding scale fees which doubled from $20 to $40 in October) for the SEA MAR dentist in Aberdeen before I can get reimbursed. I can't afford that at all. I've been unemployed for over a year and have 0.04 cents that barely keeps my account in the positive.

I'm able to handle extractions and such, but the moment metal touches my teeth, I panic. Laughing gas and Novocaine does nothing to stop it... It just... HAPPENS. Mom tells me I have always had the fear since I was a kid and went to a special dentist before foster care snagged me away. I vaguely remember those days and I can just barely remember I didn't panic back in those days... During my final foster placement, I had a dentist who's attitude left a lot to be desired and he was never nice to me. I think in the end, that left a very bad psychological aftertaste and though I understand it on a logical level, it never helps when I'm laying in that chair.

If I could afford insurance, I would. But I can't even afford a simple mere $20 a month for something like that...
