(I HOPE you found 'something' that made you smile, laugh, think or wince) ....
I, too, 'expect' MORE from 'the church', SPECIFICALLY FROM it's so called 'leaders' ....
HOWEVER:
I ALSO 'firmly' believe that ANY 'church' is ONLY as GOOD as the 'brethren/peoples'
who 'constitute' IT ....
A 'church', to DUMB old me, is like a T.V. or COMPUTER 'screen' UNIT ...
IT is ONLY as GOOD as the SUBJECT 'matter' PUT INTO IT ....

Hey, sorry, I missed your 'however' part. Yeh, just not now, ha. It does make me wonder if they really truly believe in it. Why would there be such grieving if we thought they were in a better place? Anyway, I know the church does much good on the small -scale but I have little confidence in its 'good' when it comes to its global impact.

I operate on THIS 'distinction' ....
(1) A "RELIGIOUS" person attends CHURCH because they're AFRAID of going TO HELL ....
(2) A "SPIRITUAL" person attends CHURCH because they WANT to GET TO HEAVEN ....

I have 'issues' with 'religious' types who do NOT LIVE their 'talk' or FOLLOW their 'teachings'
they 'preach' ....
I have 'issues' with ORGANIZED 'religion'Β with those whom get FILTHY RICH and give LITTLE
BACK to 'humans' ....
AND with those who are REVERENDS and PRIESTS and MINISTERS etc. and MOLEST 'their' FLOCK ....
THE WORST of THE WORST! ... GRRRR ....
HOWEVER ....
To DUMB old 'human' ME, I've seen ALOT of GOOD 'Christian' types AND I've seen ALOT of BAD
NON 'Christian' types ALIKE ....
PEEPS are PEEPS .... WHATEVER their 'label' THEY CLAIM or STATE ....
I 'judge' peeps by WHAT they DO with OTHER HUMANS and HOW they TREAT them ....
I do NOT care ONE bit WHAT 'color' they are, or WHAT their 'politics' are, or HOW they LOOK ....
ONLY by WHOM and WHAT they ARE and HOW they TREAT OTHER 'humans' .... END of discussion .... GRINS
