Hey, really impressive work for someone who self taught himself. I went to an art college but ended up not learning much, most of what i do today is also self taught as well but not nearly as amazing as your skill. Do you mind sharing with me how do you come from amateur to professional level? Did you go to online courses/tutorial? Do you have your own set of brushes, i see your style is pretty much similar to those artists from Art Center in Pasadena, CA. Do you mind sharing it with me? I'm eager to be pro but so far i'm stuck at amateurish level far too long and i dont know where to start. Appreciate any reply.

First really sorry about the late reply, I didn't have enough time to sit down and think about your questions until lately. I wouldn't consider myself as a good artist yet but i hope i can give you some inspiration-
I did not go to any online courses or local school, instead I got all my learning resources from online communities and video sites (dA, cghub, artstation, youtube, vimeo, etc.) as well as portfolio of masters (goodbrush, artpad, you know). It all ended up with studies - not copying but observing and analyzing. I spent hours a day just staring at them and think how I could do if I was to paint the same object. then it comes to practice, in my first year I spent at least 5000 hours practicing.
My brush set is basically a mix of many online brush packages (for example Jaime Jones), I just use a few of them though. I do tweak the settings but I don't usually make my own.
You mentioned my stuff are similar to those from Art Center, I would say it's more like a mainstream style of the industry at this point of time. Concept arts for production tend to have similar treatments on depth, composition, storytelling etc. which I wouldn't say is absolutely good.
I checked your profile the first thing I noticed is your value and lighting are too evenly distributed, maybe that's something you want to keep in mind.
