taoism lacks dieties and rituals, and if you practice any this is not the tao that was taught by chaung tzu and lao tzu

I'm sorry if I do not understand what exactly you are talking about, but if nobody knows the Tao, then is there no such thing as a taoist? I did research this, and am just trying to behave in a way consistint to what I have learned.
