# About me

Born in 1979, as a kid I had a strong interest and vivid fascination for all things visual. The world in my mind, was a beautiful place. I always liked to draw, but my grandfather saw it as a useless endeavour and that kind of stuck with me for a long time. Fascinated with the natural world, I've studies biology at the Univerisity of Groningen in the north of the Netherlands. It was great.
Science, beer and women were at the forefront of my thoughts. But about a year ago, drawing crept back to the fore. I started painting. Rediscovering an old friend.

So now, I'm back on track, and want to become a better visual artist, both traditional and recently, digital.

I figured I'd have a presence on Deviantart as well.
Since I want to become an illustrator/conceptartist soon (rather today than tomorrow)
I thought it wise to spread my presence around on the webz.

Wat je zei in je bio "my grandfather saw it as a useless endeavour and that kind of stuck with me for a long time", vond ik echt treffend. Ik heb ook zoiets meegemaakt. toen ik vijftien was, wilde ik kunsthumaniora gaan volgen. Maar mijn vader heeft zijn veto gesteld en ik ben in de administratie terecht gekomen. Ik hoop dat je nu weet dat kunnen tekenen helemaal niet nutteloos is... Jij hebt een uitzonderlijk talent en ik hoop dat je het alsnog kunt uitbouwen. Je tekeningen zijn uitmuntend.
