Thank you so much for taking a look at my Lady of the lake, I'm so happy that she appealed to you. What was it about her that attracted you? Do you happen to also be a Witcher fan like me? She is a secondary character in the Witcher games and was really fun to paint, especially all the water effects.
You're welcome to check out more of my work if you like or if you're an avid art appreciator you can take a peek in all the art features I make to showcase other artists' art.
Have a great and inspired day and keep being awesome!

I honestly couldn't read it. The idea made me too emotional. But I really wanted to show my support for what you're doing.

Now if only the art didn't oversexualize women and portrayed more realistic and diverse body types.

Well, I'd also be amused if they oversexualized men.

One word: Nightwing
One of my favorite heroes and I KNOW he's 1. eye candy for girls and 2. one of the biggest man whores in comics

wolfofsummerbreeze In reply to Dkalban [2013-08-13 23:54:22 +0000 UTC]
Okay. First:
1. Not just eye candy for girls.
2. Not that much of eye candy unless you know about a suit he wears that covers a lot less than I thought his does. I'm saying the equivalent of the bikini superhero outfit is the speedo.
... Look, male superheroes are not oversexualized. They're over MASCULINIZED. They're not meant to be objects of sexual desire, they're meant to be male aspirations. Guys want to BE Nightwing.
Though he is one of the best examples of a superhero guy who is supposed to be sexy. You get bonus points for that.

Not from what was shown in the trailer since it still was just a trailer, it'll probably make more sense as we see more of it later on in the series

Well played Maferath. Well played... Being jealous of the Maker does sound a little better than being jealous of a sexy, rebel elf... Just say'n.

I mean it's just like misinterpretations that happen in the bible or other works. Def started me shipping them. Now I can't think of Andraste without thinking of her bangin some hot elf.

I'm glad you have joined me aboard the Andraste and Shartan ship. <3 I should totally do some more AxS work.
If I wanted anything to become canon it would probably be this. I can't help but want to read a book or something about them and Dragon Ages distant past.

Next game is possibly Orlais, where the Chantry is centered. Maybe there are some... books masquerading as chantry books that are uh... more... naughty literature. Andraste and Shartan in a erotic romance novel prentding to be a normal chantry book?

Right? There were good points in DA2 but over all DA1 was better. Story and locations were awesome, just the battle system wasn't interactive enough. They fixed it, and the main character getting voiceacting is awesome, but DA2 being ALL sidequest? Uh. No.

I have a love-hate relationship with both games. I really should do a full review of number 2 just to get my frustrations out lol. Or something. To be honest I'm having trouble getting through a second playthrough of 2. It is a little worrying when some of the side-quests seem more developed and planned out than the main story. I agree with you on the voice acting, whole heartedly. I prefer it over a muted PC. When you have so much interaction with NPC's I think the PC should be voiced so that it doesn't feel so out of place. That's my opinion anyway.

I do so love the party banter. and Fenris. Oh~ sexy. Alistair, why were you not bi? i can't play as women, not my first time through a game. But I want to romance the characters I like the most. I love that bioware is not afraid to go there, I really do, but of all the romanceable characters in da1 I only wanted Alistair. Zev was okay, but just a bit too strong. Lils was a weird combination slutty and holy and it just put me off in ways Sebastian doesn't (having converted from one to the other). Morrigan was witty and I loved her as a character (i loved the entire party truly) but she could never give her everything to someone in the game, and I knew that. I went with her the only full playthrough I have and... hurg. awkward romance.
But playing that game as a girl? My headcanon kinda goes like this: Human noble looks like the trailers, manly warrior dude who is stoic and actually gets along with sten (who I like because I think people trying to talk to him is hilarious). Human mage is male, strong in terms of magic, bookish, short black hair, but has that kind of inner leader type of strength people take note of (he always meets peoples eyes ad it's kinda intense) which makes him a good silent protagonist. My elven mage WOULD be female, and be a firey redhead, but the elves have three origin stories and the humans have one, so since the mage origins are the same she kinda looses out. The Dalish elf is also male, warrior, blonde hair kept short for battle, weilds a bow, the kind of quiet that is intimidating on purpose, partly because he's learning how to deal with shem but he also is a introvert loner (parents are where, dead, hello) who learns throughout the game by observing and holding his tongue, so he's a good guy at heart and the closer you get to him the more you see him smile and the more he cares for the party. City elf is a rouge, dagger wielder, rakish grinning joker similar to funny hawke, a bit out of his depth in many areas, but gets on like brothers once he warms up to alistair, fiercely protective of his family and yet honorable and not an assasin kinda guy, brown hair and a bit of a stubbly beard betraying his closer to human descent. Dwarf Pesant is a rough guy, tough, not afraid to get his hands dirty but doesn't like doing it, kinda simple, take action kind of guy, do what has to be done to bring home the bread, not much for convoluted plots, rolls his eyes at drama and is picking up sarcasm from Morrigan, dark brown hair, short beard for a dwarf, and is wicked with a sword and dagger out of necessity. Last is the Dwarf nobleWOMAN, who I'd love to play as because she's a caring, fun, witty, fun woman who will take the fall and do the right thing, trained by her family in weapons but prefers two-handed, short brown hair framing her round face that lights up when she smiles and the smiling kinda happens a lot when she's covered in blood.
Dwarf is the last on my list to play as. EVER. I'm just... not a fan. I like humans, and some elves though DA2 kinda... killed their proportions? Fenris looks good. Merril looks good. I'm not sure I can say the same for anyone else. So I played as a human and started working my way through origin stories, gave up, and watched the alistair romance on youtube.

Sorry for my late reply.
I respect and understand your wishes to have a bi Alistair,(Alistar is pretty amazing!) however, I have very personal reasons for not liking the idea of having a characters sexuality be interchangeable and dependent on the OC (like in DA2 for Fenris, Anders and Merrill.) I don't mind people writing or drawing straight characters as gay or visa versa, but I respect the canon, no matter what that might be.
I can also understand finding it hard to play as the opposite sex. I personally can play both but my friends also find it weird to run around as something else. I guess it depends on the game.
Your ideas for OC's are awesome. You've put a lot of thought into it. That's what I love about the DA games, you can at least come up with some interesting characters and they are pretty flexible about it compared to other games.
Dwarves are pretty cool in the DA-verse, but I'm more of an elf fan. Can't get enough of them. The DA2 elf design took a little bit for me to get used to, but I warmed to it in the end. Some of the NPC elves were pretty fugly though lol.

I respect canon sexuality as well, I just really wanted some Alistair lovin. I do like to think that its possible for straight characters to find love with the same gender though, just like I think the a gay character can fall in love with the opposite gender. Makes me feel less bad about Alistair x OMC or something else.
One of my biggest reasons for wanting that though is that... if you're going to make characters that can only be romanced by one gender, make a guy and a girl. I just think that if you can't romance Alistair as a guy, there should be a guy you can't romance when playing as a girl. It keeps the four romanceable characters from dragon age but with a bit more actual world representation.
I will say this, I DO want to play as a awesome female Warrior some time. Knowing me though... she'll probably sleep with all that she can before going for the Isabela/Zevran character.
I hope in future games we get to change race again. And thanks, I took a while in my OC creation when I was on a DA2 binge and owned half the game in a weekend.
I like the dwarven characters, and shorter guys are more cuddly, but something about the male aesthetic of them puts me off. I LOVE dwarven ladies. They're size sexy, no way to cut it.
Elves... I do like them. I wouldn't be an elf over a human (d&d as well as DA) but I like them a lot. I'd probably romance one if i was stuck in game. Fenris is too pretty to not be romanced, and I think I can handle that, but let's face it, if I got sucked into DA I would try to make ALL THE PAIRINGS HAPPEN. Possibly out of boredom. But, digressing, I do have this weird brain-canon that elves just kinda are naturally above average lovers as a whole. I DON'T KNOW WHY. I also think the Merril and Fenris are very pretty, but I think of those NPC elves that were fugly ad I go "ewww do not want". Fugly might not be the right word. They looked... alien. So weird. I wish if I play 3 that i get hair mods, because the options don't do their physical form justice (or should I say JUSTICE) and I kinda doubt that DA3 will have better options in game then 2 did. I can hope though.
