What Payments I Accept: Paypal only.
I also accept other art (art trades) in return for mine. Throw me some examples of your work if interested.

How Long It Takes: I try to finish artwork in a timely manner, but I do have some problems with my drawing hand, so I usually have to work a little at a time.
I also can't give definite times when I happen to feel inspired or enthusiastic about drawing, and I don't like to work when I'm not, simply because the end result won't be anywhere near as good.
Basically, nothing is one hundred percent certain. Life is unpredictable, and I can't promise anything more than to try my very best.
I never request payment in advance, so technically, you have the ability to back out any time.
I reserve the right to decline or drop any commission that I have already accepted, for any reason. I will never do so without notifying you, however.

Any Other Questions: Ask away, I'll answer as soon as possible!

I LOVE interactive poses! Fighting, being cuddly, you name it.

ALL Prices are approximate, based on an average character.
The more complex your character is, the more the price will increase. (For example, horns or mild scale textures might be a bit extra, while wings or very intricate patterns/markings would be more.)
Feel free to inquire if I feel that your character would be 'difficult' for me or not, there's never any harm in asking~

All prices are in USD. If you need them converted into anything else, google is the world's best friend.
Discounts given to frequent customers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

When commissioning me, please specify the following:
What kind of art you want: (clean sketch, fully shaded, etc.)
What character you want drawn: your reference(s) here, the more the better - detailed descriptions may be acceptable
What expression and pose you want: (describing their basic personality traits is useful also)

I will show you numerous WIPs for your approval. You are welcome to request absolutely any edits, but please try to mention them before the lineart and especially the colored stages; those are much more difficult to alter.
After I'm completely finished, I'll slap a huge watermark on a copy of the finished piece as a scam precaution, show you the watermarked version, and then you let me know if the coloring job is satisfactory.
If it is, we can decide on a finalized price that would be fair in proportion to the image's quality.
Once we both agree on a reasonable price, I will remove the tacky plague of a watermark and viola, you've got your commission. c:
If you have any questions, just drop me a message.

Coming across your page brings me memories when I was around thirteen years old. I loved your work so much.

I vividly remember, asking if we could be friends like a noob. My god, these memories are just so hilarious. I almost feel bad for what I had to make you go through. All the "slang" words back then.. Sorry if this is strange to talk about this. I just find it funny and thought I'd share because I was visiting my old accounts recently.

I hope to see more work from you, hope you're doing well.

Had no idea I made such an impression on people, haha. Sorry to say your name doesn't ring a bell, but it's interesting to see people from years or even decades ago show up out of the woodwork, you're at least the second or third one this year oddly enough. I still draw but I don't really upload online anywhere, you'd have to message me personally if you cared to see anything recent. I obviously don't check here often but I could give out other contacting info over notes or something if you want.

Yeah, I cam across you again and I had to check up on you. Haha!

I was contemplating if I should delete my old account- though it held way to many memories.

Don't think you'd remember this account since this is much newer than the older one.

However, I would love to be able to see your work now! If you have a discord that would be great.

Discord is something I use on the daily. So I'd like that for sure if we could exchange contacts !

It's been a rough few years actually.
Hoping to finally be able to share good news & photos again in the not too distant future, just keeping my fingers crossed and working hard to get back on track in the meantime.
Thanks for checking in, I'd have replied a lot sooner but halfway decent internet access has been an occasional privilege for a long while. Means a lot.Β  : )

Sorry, but as I do not buy things on deviantart I do not generally accept points. I would probably need to find someone else's work I would wish to commission for points, so I would have a use for them. No worries, it never hurts to ask.
USD = United States Dollars. Basically, just paying with money. For example, if you use Paypal to buy points on DeviantArt, you would use Paypal to send the money directly to the artist instead.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

xDember In reply to HedgehodgeMonster [2012-10-17 12:11:27 +0000 UTC]

Ah, really? Who?
I suppose it depends. If I know the subject well, such as with canine anatomy, then yes, I can give very precise critiques that can, upon occasion, turn into the great wall of text.
I'm generally more determined to touch all of the problem areas, if I feel that the artist has the potential to really improve. I've got some problems with my drawing hand, so I suppose my skills might as well be put to use somehow, even if I have trouble utilizing them anymore.
Why do you ask?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HedgehodgeMonster In reply to xDember [2012-10-17 12:15:15 +0000 UTC]

It was an anon ask on some shitty tumblr blog that mentioned you and said you were harsh as fuck.

Which made me think of soliciting you for some critique because I do not exactly get enough of it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

xDember In reply to HedgehodgeMonster [2012-10-17 16:06:11 +0000 UTC]

I'm always honest, often in a "spare no feelings" kind of way, so I wouldn't argue with that.
Kind of pitiful they had to mask themselves as anonymous, though. I wonder, were they too ashamed of their artwork to let people know who they actually were?

Anyway, I'm generally much harsher on people who ignorantly assume they're flawless, especially when they can't stand to hear otherwise; this is usually what provokes me into a detailed critique, because I feel that people like that really need to pull their heads out of their anal cavities and get taken down a notch or two.

They remind me of people in competitions who are so cocky that they behave as if they can do no wrong, only to be challenged to put their money where their mouth is and wind up failing miserably.

I suppose I see it as me doing them a favor, honestly. After all, if I were ever acting like such an arrogant little imbecile, I'd certainly want someone to knock me off my high horse so I would stop embarrassing myself in the future.

Far too often, you see artists who have been complimented by their family and friends, and perhaps even a few mindless fans on the internet who'll throw pointless comments like "perfect!" and "amazing!" at anyone they find -- frequently even if the art looks like a six year old drew it -- and they assume that they have absolutely no room for improvement, because all they've ever heard is how good they are.

When it comes to most, they seem to simply hate it when anyone tells them otherwise -- in other words, anyone who goes out of their way to try to help them (because really, what benefit is there for the person writing the critique?) rather than just vomiting meaningless praise at them.

It's nice to have your talent remarked upon, yes, but it's pretty ignorant to assume that, just because people have "politely" refrained from mentioning your faults, you couldn't possibly have any.

Seriously, some of the people I've written critiques for, you'd have thought I just turned their entire worlds upside down. I half expect them to reply with a sardonic "How dare you shower me in anything other than adoration, lowly peasant? I am an *artist* and I am perfect, so stop telling me the dogs I draw have deer-legs just because their shins are the same length as the entirety of their spines and go die in a hole."

Myself, sure, I definitely appreciate 'positive' comments; but a critique, or just an honest opinion that wasn't written to stroke my ego...that means ten times more to me, any day.
Knowing that someone really examined the artwork and took the time to mark down areas that could have been done better, that means much more than a quick glance at the piece and a quick "nice work" or "so pretty".

All that said, I wouldn't mind helping you out at all, and I'm kind of honored that you would seek me out to do so.
Do you happen to have any instant messengers? We would be able to correspond much more quickly and conveniently. If not, comments will suffice, as long as you don't mind that they're public, seeing as I can't really change that.

Unfortunately, the DA note system lags my browser like crazy, but we can use that if necessary, or even email if you would prefer. Perhaps we could even draw together in opencanvas (a free art program) if you would like, it can be really helpful for critiques and it makes redlining really easy.

Let me know, shoot me the artwork you'd like me to take a look at, and I'll do my best to share my knowledge and skills.
I'm certainly not flawless, so I wouldn't recommend referring to my advice religiously, but I do have a decent grasp on how anatomy works and how to illustrate it in a stylistic, aesthetically pleasing and reasonably accurate manner.
Hope I can be of assistance. c:

people who cannot take even a little bit of criticism are always really aggravating. And their refusal to listen or even acknowledge they need a bit of work makes them even worse.

It's mostly because of the psychological phenomenon that the skills you need to be GOOD at something are really the VERY SAME skills you need to evaluate your OWN skill level.

I rather enjoy getting comments of ANY kind on any of my work, positive, negative, constructive, or destructive... preferably they should be more than one word long because otherwise what's the point? Faves are alright too, but they're a bit more impersonal and detached than an actual genuine comment. I guess I'm really a huge attention whore.

So yes, I don't mind getting public dA comments. I mean, if I didn't want negative feedback on my art, I'd keep it off the internet altogether. I'm not hiding anything unless someone asks me to. Plus if I really didn't want comments, I'd disable them (which I have NEVER done for any of my works, mind).

I would love to chat over an IM client sometime. I have a Yahoo! and a WLM account and I use Trillian to use both, so tell me which one you want and I'll give it to you (it'll have to be sent over the dA notes sadly).

I don't have anything specific I particularly want to show you for appraisal, but the art I think I really could use some or any sort of critique in would be the ones in this folder:
[link]

I guess you can also take a look at this folder because it's something I'm not all that good with yet
[link]

there's also this folder but it's not up to date:
[link]
plus it's my NASTY SHIT folder, so watch your step, it's gross in there.

Lastly there's these two folders but I doubt how you could remotely critique them in an objective fashion... I guess you can but it would be a bit trickier than the other three folders.
[link]
[link]

So yeah, that's a total of two folders I would REALLY like some crit on, and one of them is really small compared to the other

then there's three folders, one of which has some rather... nasty content, and two which have content that is trickier to objectively criticize.

I'm not stopping you from criticizing anything in my gallery or saying you shouldn't try to critique those last two/three folders. I'm just saying that the first two might be easier for you to deliver criticism on than the last two (and the middle folder isn't exactly for the faint of heart).

Fire away!

xDember In reply to HedgehodgeMonster [2012-10-17 19:21:08 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunately, I'm a novice at best when it comes to scenery, so I really won't be of much, if any help there.

As for furries, I can't really stand them so I definitely don't draw them myself, and I've got very little skill when it comes to drawing human anatomy in general, so any critiques there would be observational, a bit like a judge at a contest for chefs who may have good taste, but who cannot or does not cook.

If you give me more specific pieces, or even aspects you'd like to improve on (such as paws, ears, tails, noses or so on), that would be far more convenient for me, because it would take me countless hours, if not days or weeks to thoroughly critique an entire folder, even a small one. Let's see what we can work out.

Drop me an IM, I'll probably be on all day.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HedgehodgeMonster In reply to xDember [2012-10-17 19:24:16 +0000 UTC]

stick to the first page and possibly to the images on the first row of each one

that's strange then, the human anatomy is kind of what I was thinking of when I was thinking about things I wanted you to crit

and I cannot IM, I'm currently in Singapore and that means when you're up it may be very late for me

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

xDember In reply to HedgehodgeMonster [2012-10-17 19:29:14 +0000 UTC]

Do you..actually see any humans in my gallery? xD
I've drawn two that turned out halfway decently, both of which were busts and neither of which were what I would call anatomically correct.

I'm a pretty good observer, but as far as redlines, I'm more in a position to receive them than offer them to anyone else, when it comes to humanoid anatomy. Again, I can do my best, but you'll need to give me links of the artwork in question, and I would much prefer to do it over an IM, since having to remember to come back and check this website is far less convenient.

Notes in particular lag my browser so badly that it freezes for minutes at a time, and I cannot even see what I'm typing until at least a minute or two after I stop. It's a dreadful system for me.

As for IMs, if you're talking to me on here, you can talk to me on an instant messenger. My schedule definitely doesn't coincide with that of most people in my location, so if you'd just rather not discuss it right now, I'm sure there will be other times when we're both online.
