My version's finished but I don't know whether to put it up until you do one. If you colour it I'd like to see your interpertation of it, not just copying mine.

lol Well we were thinking along the same lines with the red and black. I can't do anything at the moment as we are having software issues. I have a special program I was going to take it into to do super-clean lines before taking some color into it but that program only works on our windows computer, which Geir has not fixed yet If I am going to color it, then I will do it justice or I won't do it at all, so I am going to wait until Geir fixes the windows box.

I think you have done a fabulous job with it!

Yes cleaner lines would have made it 50 times more easier to colour. I tried using the rubber tool a bit to clean mine up but not hugely.

I've given up on hubby fixing the windows box and started cleaning the lines on photoshop. It's an opportunity I usually use to tweak the fine detail work of my own stuff when I clean it up, but in this case I must refrain I want to preserve the integrity of your image just as it is, so I will be tracing directly over your exact lines. Should take me a few days. But by the time you get here I should be laying down some layers of color

It's a lot of fun for me to be able to do this. I have huge difficulty holding a pencil for any length of time due to the carpal tunnel and arthritis, so I have not been able to draw anything for quite awhile, except digitally.

This stage of bringing an image into digital color and cleaning it up is my very favorite part of any project, as tedious as it can be, I love it! lol, I know, I am weird.

So thank you for giving me the oppotunity to work on a piece, it has been awhile, and I've missed it!

I like colouring stuff digitally too, but only really for the finished product. As you can see, it takes a while depending on my intrest in the image an dwillpower.
How do you get clean lines? Idk if it's my pen but mine always seem to come out rather pixally and not nice and clean like the more experianced artists.

What I do is create a blank layer, and then using the line tool mostly, paint brush for difficult curves, and often, the circle/ellipse tool, I basically trace over the background, following the lines precisely as a rule but also using the opportunity to clean up some of the detail work that tends to get blurred (curse of the pencil). When I have completely traced the image in black, I merge all the layers into one layer above the background layer. Then I erase the background completely. (not delete, just erase the original image so you still have the background layer plus one layer over top. Yes it look slightly pixally, but then what I do is go back to the line layer, and using the blur tool set to about 5% with a massive brush, I gently blur the lines until the reach the softness I want. Then I go back to the background layer and begin painting. When I am done, I flatten the two layers making one layer, and voila...crisp clean lines.

I can understand both

The family can understand me, with a bit of help from my husband. His mom and dad speak ok english, not great, but enough that with their little bit of english, and my little bit of norwegian, we can communicate. Some of his older aunts and uncles though speak very very little or none at all lol

Norwegian is very very difficult to learn.
