so i read your husband? lives in Iraq ? or somewhere in a different country but i wanted to ask how he would even go about living in the united states legally ? weird question i know but im going thru some immigration stuff and i was wondering how someone like myself in a small town is handling it all what with immigration and all the paper work

Yes my husband is from Kosovo (formerly known as Yugoslavia) and he works in Afghanistan (we worked there together when we met and got married). I had to leave in June because I became pregnant but he could not come with me. He chose to stay there rather than quit so that he could continue to work and save money for when he is able to come to Vinita, we could buy a house. When I arrived, I made an attempt to apply for his citizenship but I didn't know what I was doing and didn't have all the documents I needed. After 2 months, I decided to get an immigration attorney and they've been wonderful ever since. I pay them $300 a month for 6 months and they never stop trying to get him here (no matter how long it takes). Right now they are in the "processing" phase which means they just got our application 2 months ago and they are looking into our backgrounds and our relationship. This could take up to 5 months for them to make a decision. After that, (if its a yes) they will process his visa which should take a month or two to get and he can move here. If it's a no, then we have to appeal which will take a while. Of course we are hopeful and have a well established relationship. Meanwhile, our baby is due in 2 months and I'm having to do this alone and its hard. I'm very thankful for the internet (our chats) and the telephone (He has a South Carolina line at work there in Afghanistan so the long distance is only from SC).

I miss him so much.

he is from canada :c but he is visiting in December so im happy
30$ a month is a good deal i hope everything works out with you two

Canada isn't so bad, but I still wish you luck because you just never know. Oh and it's $300.00 a month. I think part of the problem is the attorney is in Los Angeles CA and he filed the packet there (where thousands of Mexican's file daily) this could slow us down. The "up" is if there is any problems the attorney is right there to fight for us. I just found out yesterday they told us 8 MORE months of waiting. It's hard to stay strong, especially when he can't get a tourist visa to even come for a visit.

dang ! well i wish you luck to girl,us girls with our foreign hunks need to be strong lol but i wonder if a person could apply for there visa when there here visiting ? anyways if you ever need company we inhabit the same town ,so ill be there if you need anything :]

Thank you. If the foreigner manages to get to the US on a tourist visa, yes they can apply to stay with no problems. It's getting approved for a tourist visa that's difficult, especially if they are already married to an American (like my case). Ugh! Please take care and good luck.
