After googling "Yakushima Forest", I saved a bunch of new references; this scene is based on one of them. Of course it's a mix of the actual landscape and my imagination as well.
Usual workflow - Vue Infinite 2015 (scene + rendering) >> Photoshop (minor corrections+ finishing waterfalls) >> Filter Forge (enhancements, frame)
