Description Here is Mik's father, Boris Vladof, during the Brusso-Changeling War years ago.

Boris is a contracted steel builder, as evident in his mark of a hammer and steel ingot. Throughout all of Brussia, he worked building new, stronger homes and buildings with reliable steel frames, earning himself a cozy living in Imperial rubles, along with his wife, Anya, who wrote children's books of all subjects that sold millions of copies, and were translated into many languages, altogether supporting each other, and their son, whom Boris loved very much. When the bugs started drawing closer to Moscow, Boris saw that he had to protect his family, and his people, and despite not wanting to leave his family's side, he rushed to enlist in the Imperial Red Army. After months of training, he was assigned as a scout for his squad, and sent into the most pivotal battle in the entire war; Stalliongrad, the one city that stood between the changelings and his home. His unit neared Stalliongrad at dusk, and the commissar decided it would be best for the troops to get some rest before joining the battle the next morning. So that night, Boris was about to turn in from his guard shift for the night with the other stallions, bulls, and deer in his squad, when he decided to listen to the radio while he did an equipment check. Just as he placed his Mosin-Neighgant rifle against the dresser, the ruckus of battle echoing off in the distance, a broadcast from the Tsar himself came on.

"...And to our brave soldiers defending their families and our glorious empire from the changeling swarm on the front lines, this song is for you. Know that we all pray to the Princesses for your victory, and for your safe return home to us all. We love you, our brave comrades."

Then a familiar song was heard; Katyusha. A song about a mare and her love for a soldier she dearly missed. Images came into Boris's mind, as he recalled the lyrics, seeing his dear wife, Anya, as the mare in the song, their son, Mik, by her side, waiting for him to come home again. Remembering seeing Mik crying for him when he last saw them, Anya barely holing back her own tears behind a smile, Boris suddenly felt homesick again. And started crying, overwhelmed by the anxiety of never seeing them again...

A bittersweet night, before he he became a hero of Brussia.

A very well done commission by of another OC of mine directly related to my ponysona. Thanks, man, and job well done!

Let him have his moment, he'll pull himself together before the night's up. Besides, you act like he's constantly complained, tovarishch commissar. He is among our finest recruits, along with everypony else in this unit! Now, if you are done, I recommend you get some sack time, we have a big day tomorrow. *indicates to the blazing city in the distance* Da?

Indeed, a massacre in Stalliongrad Red Square would be one of the last things we want. Now remember, comrade commissar, the Tsar's orders are that any unnecessary losses are unacceptable. The last time somepony implemented a no-retreat policy, a commissar was imprisoned for executing his own men for pulling back to their lines. We will not retreat, but we will not kill our own troops.
