Six years old

It was a year ago, when I started my training in Ninja Academy. I was five years old that time, six months later after I met those two, Shisui Uchiha and Itachi Uchiha. Of course, from the beginning, both my parents were against me as they have planned for me to live just as a civilian, but, being friends with Shisui for half a year, I developed a rebellious streak and started to do things against their rules, which forced them to give me the approval. As a result, I'm about to graduate next year.

'Not much of an achievement compared to those two. They get busier and busier everyday ever since they graduated and now nearly promoting to Chunin.'

"Mou, Ka-nee-san! You're not listening..." A little boy about four years old complained and pouted, as he nudged me to shook me off of my thoughts. With the same dark hair as the two, one could tell that he was one of the Uchihas.

"Sorry Sasuke-kun, I guess I spaced out again," Apparently, I'm taking care of Itachi's younger brother once again, since their parents were currently out for the evening for some meeting and Itachi, himself, has a mission with Shisui. It was half a year ago, when I met this little guy.

Flashback

"Me? Coming with you to visit Itachi's house? I think we shouldn't bother him this early in the morning and besides, it's too rude to just enter someone else's house," I reasoned out, holding back my words and leaving it to my thoughts, 'Like you did with me. I want to go back to sleep, I just had some physical drills yesterday in the academy.'

Knowing that it would make me give in, Shisui did the best puppy dog eyes as he could. Not my fault that he found out I was weak against that kind of eye expression.

"Fine Shisui, you win," I sighed, 'Sometimes, I wonder who's older.'

"Yes! And I'm sure you'll definitely meet his cute younger brother, Sasuke."

"I have a feeling that this is more than coming to Itachi's house..."

"I'm not planning something!" He quickly denied.

Nonchalantly, I replied, "I didn't say anything."

It was quite obvious that there was something, but, I decided to let it pass, 'He'll just have to pay our next meal in the dango shop,' as if.

Dragging me to a running spree like he always did, we ran all the way to the Uchiha compound and across its streets, 'Of course; drag me around like always, Shisui.'

Skidding to a stop, Shisui managed to catch me just in time, since I still seemed to be out of it. With a yawn, I watched Shisui opened the door.

"Itachi!"

Then, a lady with long dark blue hair came out, "Oh! They're here, dear!" She was calling out to another person, when she noticed that Shisui and I finally arrived.

"Mikoto-ba-san, ohayo gozaimasu," He smiled and bowed. While he did, another person came out to the door way, a man with dark brown hair, which reached just above his shoulders, appeared.

Shisui, then bowed again. This time towards the man I assume is the patriarch in this house, "Fugaku-sama..."

Not forgetting my manners, I bowed to both and introduced myself, "I'm Kaede Natsumi, um...It's an honor to meet the head of the Uchiha clan."

"Raise your heads now. Well, since you and your friend are already here. I take it all three of you will be taking care of Sasuke?" The matriarch asked with a smile.

Shisui nodded and smiled back, "Right, I couldn't refuse a favor from my dear cousin after all."

"Anyways, Fugaku and I will be going now. I trust the three of you can take care of things here while we're gone. It is nice to meet you too, Kaede-chan."

"H-Hai, Mikoto-sama," I was pretty much intimidated. Itachi's father and mother were beautiful people and carried a very superior-like aura, which really made me all nervous.

"Oh dear, it seems you felt intimidated. I told you Fugaku to at least wear a smile once in a while. You're scaring them," Mikoto laughed, "And you can call me Mikoto-ba-san too. Relax now."

Fugaku sighed, "We're already late."

"That's right. Well, we'll be going now. We'll be back by six in the evening,"

Mikoto then went ahead, followed by Fugaku.

I sighed, as I fell on my bottom, 'Too much...'

"You're finally here, Shisui...and Kaede-san? Shisui, what is she doing here?"

Finally, Itachi decided to show up, while carrying a three almost four year old child.

Shisui laughed nervously.

"You dragged her again, didn't you?"

I stood up, "I knew it."

"Um, the more the merrier?"

While looking around the place, my eyes were then glued to the little boy Itachi was carrying. Slowly, I walked towards Itachi, still locking eyes with the little boy, as he stared in curiosity at me, before I stopped midway.

"Is this your younger brother Sasuke, Itachi?"

"Yeah."

Sasuke smiled and laughed, "Kade-nee-san!"

As he uttered those words, I felt my cheeks burning hot, 'Too cute. Wait...so I turn red like those girls too? I thought I was different, guess not.'

Shisui then chuckled, "I told you, you would find him cute. And Sasuke, it's Ka-e-de-nee-sa-n."

Sasuke puffed his cheeks, "But, itsh harg..."

"Sasuke, it's not 'itsh harg'. You say, 'it's hard'," Itachi instructed.

The little boy struggled himself to make Itachi let go of him and as he did, Sasuke quickly went towards me and hugged my knees, "Kade-nee-san..." He looked up and was teary-eyed, "'Tachi-nii and Sui-nii are being mean!"

In a flash, I lifted him up in my arms and smiled, "Now, now, I'm sure they were just trying to help you. Why don't you just call me Ka-nee-san, so it would be easier right?"

He giggled, "Hai!"

Shisui and Itachi were dumbfounded, though, Shisui expressed it more openly than Itachi did. He is Itachi after all.

'Well, they just have to get used to it when Sasuke's around,' I chuckled.

"Ka-nee-san, you're not listening to me again."

"Ah, sorry I was just recalling what happened when I first met you, Sasuke-kun," I smiled.

"What's 'recalling'?"

"It's 'remembering', Sasuke-kun."
