Gatling guns were created during the American Civil War and used first by the Confederates.

Nice poster I really like it . But the date ... Well it was designed in 1861 by Dr Gatling and was used by the Union in 1866. Maj. Gen. Benjamin F. Butler a Union officer personally bought some and his troops used them in 1864 to good effect . But no , the rebels as Dr Gatling called them did not use his gun .

You could make a new poster . I just thought you might find it interesting . At first no one wanted it cause they thought it would jam . He did make improvements on it , it was mostly used after the Civil War though .

It was one of those last minute sort of jobs, in all honesty, I didn't really do the research I should have simply due to the fact it was supposed to be something quick and fun rather than perfectly accurate.
If I were more serious about it at the time, I would have used Wikipedia to dig up the resources it used for its article and gone from there.

Inreality weapons can be useful. at out schoold cadet camp i accidentaly shot a sheep with a Parker Hale sniper rifle and they had mutton stew that night

It was an accident as it was my first time using such a powerful rifle. And the farmer apparently wasn't that bothered. Also it was a good bit of mutton and there was enough to make a curry the next day
