I've read about building 93, it's where alot of that stuff took place and is said to be the most haunted part of the asylum. Nice shot, I could only imagine how horrible shock therapy was.

i agree that it is definitely one of the most haunted buildings at kings park based on experience. electro shock therapy is still used today to treat disorders such as depression.

I'd love to investigate, but I don't live in that state and would be afraid of being caught. Ghost stories are so fascinating. I read online about Central Islip having some kind of evil presence, and Pilgrim is still partially in use, and all three are haunted. It's sad they got rid of most asylums because not everything can be treated and at all times the patient is fine on just medicines. Shock therapy just sounds awful, and I don't know how it would help. Lobotomies had to be the worst thing though. That and the staff who didn't care about patients, because all those places you know had some rotten staff members at one point or another. Just read about the childrens asylums, they were like death camps to some.

This is a fascinating photo. How did you get into an apparently abandoned building?

they don't electrocute them to kill them, they strap them to the chair and send electric volts through the brain to induce a seizure. it's thought to help patients suffering mainly from depression and other disorders.
