Fun fact, he is a combination of three Pharaohs in Egyptian history and the Book of Exodus:Β the historic Ozymandias (aka Ramesses II), Akhenaten (who promoted a monotheistic religion based around worship to Ra or Aten as he referred to him as) and King Tut.Β Special mention to those two since their reigns align with details in Exodus, Akhenaten's reign was the only time that mud-bricks were used in city-building, a fact pointed out in Exodus where the Hebrews made mud-bricks, and Tut died young, much like how versions of the Exodus state that the Pharaoh was swept away by the tide.Β Although Ozy is lumped in thanks to Cecil B. DeMille with his film adaptation of the story, The Ten Commandments, where the Pharaoh is Ramesses II.
