Intro

16 years I had Angel here, used to always tear my hair out when the propotions go wrong. I ended up drawing the same Image over and over to ty and get the right propotions. Basically doing a drawing one then tracing it over changing little details. The drawings from 2004 to 2006 are replicas of the originals, I've lost them due to the fact of a certain person within the familly throwing my work out. I'm not going to dox the person because I don't beleve its the right way of dealling with things. Needless to say I wasn't very happy at the time, but water under the bridge lol. I tried to keep it authentic for the 2004 to 2006 drawings, still remember vividly on how they used to look.

How she was created

Foxes in general, are my favourite kind of species. Way back in the early 2000s and the end of the 90s; you could pretty much say I was an avid Sonic Fan. The first game I ever played, was Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast. Still play the game on the odd occasions, for nostalgic trps. In 2004 I was watching Sonic X and I was wanting to see a Vixen on the show. That never happend, so I created Angel. Sorry Zoey the Fox, you came too late. I was also unaware of Fiona Fox in the Archie comics, till I discovered her existance in 2006. The first concept of Angel was actually a recolouration of Miles "Tails" Prower with one tail. She had that V thing on the top of her head like Cream the Rabbit. her mussel splitting in to two bits of fluff towards the sides, like tails' mussel splitting out in to four. she had green eys at the time. I never bothered to draw the image in my head, as she looked too similar to Tails. I knew I wasn't going to be happy with the result, so I need to work on it. I didn't want to have a reskinned Tails.

Development stages

2004

This was a begining of something, that I never anticapated. At this time Angel didn't have a name, I was pondering on ideas at the time. I still remember vividly sitting in my bedroom 13 years of age, the room was an absolute warzone. I was lazy didn't want to tidy up. It was the mid term break on the 26th October 2004 (I used this date for her birthday) when I did the first drawing. What I had in mind, is an explorer type of character who loves to see the world. The concept of Planet Castonia didn't come in to existance untill 2014.

2005

I started adding bits a peices to Angel, at the time, I've given her the name of Sarah Fox. The Terminator movies may have had an inflence in that. She wasn't a Princess or a Kitsune at this point. However, I was working on a back story for Angel. I orignaly gave her the age of 9 years to somewhat mach with Tails, but the number steadly incresed to 16. It was kinda funny trying to draw boobs on Angel for the first time, I always had one sagging. It was fustrating, then I started to get funny looks off people when I was drawing a pair.

2006

I changed her outfit to try and be more colourful, she still had green eyes. but the outfit was completly red. then I added more hair to her. I was toying of adding aspect of shadows powers to Angel, so a second ultimate lifeform. The princess part wasn't considered till later in 2007. I also created Belleny and Rebecca this year, as I wanted to give her friends to interact with eachother. her nickname was Angel, but that changed to her real name soon after.

2007

After loosing all the work I did in the past, it had gave me an oppitunity to shake things up. I was trying different outfits on her. I was reverting back to the original outfit but with a twist, have it blue. the yellow didn't come in till later on that year. this outfit was a primative version to what she is wearing now, this is when she became a Kitsune and a Princess, also becoming over powered for a little while. I also changed her eyes to blue.

2008

Minor details were changed, Beginning to draw back the over powered part. She looked really busy, so I contined to redesigning the clothes. This is when I began the Sonic the hedgehog When Worlds colide story. I was watching movies, to get ideas.

2014

this is when I built my first PC when I got a job. I went all out, i7, 16gb ram. I changed her vest to a zipper shirt, it was going to be a button down top. it didn't look right. I added the black tips to her ears and tail. this is when Planet castonia was created as Angel's stature was 5.5 foot tall, as she is taller than her sonic counterparts. this is when I done a lot of research in stories, how they are written, movie analytics, preparing myself for the Sonic story. when I say a lot, I mean A LOT.

2017

After practicing construction drawing and using references, she was begining to look how I Imagined her. shortly after, I added short sleeves to her shirt. and varous other details to her. still having trouble drawing hands and feet ugh...

2021

Now, Angel looks how I imagined her to be. Experimenting with coloured line art and soft shading. Since she is a Princess, I'm avoiding to do a carbon copy of Sally Acorn.
