Description A 1955 Ford F-100 hauler. For the '55 model year, you could get a dome light, lighter, arm rests, sun visors and a radio. Holy smoke, even a Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission!

Note that I'm not all that tongue-in-cheek here. Younger viewers should bear in mind that in the 50s, trucks weren't popular for riding around in at all. They were bought to be worked, and if the buyer was a farmer, well you just know the salesman had an uphill fight selling ANY of those options to a hard-bitten sod-buster. That's just the way it was, and the brand didn't matter for that. Every customer had their favorite brand that they didn't much switch from, and they counted out every nickle carefully on the tailgate at buying time.

For 1955, the available Y-block V8s - if you wanted to spend the coin, were sized at 272 and 292 cubic inches, and hey, power steering was an option.

nice!
i've had a few old "hot rods" but for some reason the one that got the most attention from the ladies was a '52 ford truck i had.
that's not the only reason i miss that old truck though.

I'm never happy unless I've got a truck around.

Thanks! I have a place in my heart for old well-worked haulers, especially step-sides. That started way back when I was maybe 7, riding through pastures in the back and heaving out salt licks for the cows, lol.
