Description
This gorgeous artwork was made by I absolutely love it! She did an amazing job on my Artemis! The pose, the details, the background.. Love it
It fits her persoanlity too. This is so her! Going out at night, flying around a bit and then sit relaxed on a thick branch in a strong and big tree, just gazing at the Moon since she's facinated by it (hench her name Artemis, Goddess of the hunt, the Moon, the forest, and childbirth). Scyleia, her Amazon warrior rider, is at her village and Artemis went on a nice flight by herself before returning. Yes I can so see this happening
The addition of the northern lights, the stars and the snow is so beautiful too! Seeing her breath in the cold night sky and her gorgeous green eyes jumping out! Yes I love this artwork!
Comments are highly appreciated :3 Please don't just fav and run, tell me what you think^^

It was after sunset when the stryx awoke. There was something about the night time that got to her. Instinctively, she felt more active during the night and only sometimes diverted her instinct on Scyleias behalf. The Amazon warrior she had grown to trust, respect and care for over time had adapted to the new addition in her life. The responsibility of a DracoStryx and the care they needed. Ever since Artemis hatched, the Amazon had taken on more night shifts to spend more time together and work with the stryx to protect the borders of the Nation. They made flights around the borders, trained and during breaks, they had fun together. Artemis was a very valuable asset to the Nation. Not many enemies attacked them just like that when they found out they had to deal with a fully grown DracoStryx as opponent. The dragoness stood up from her nest next to Scyleias hut and she moved slowly towards her handlers house, peeking through the window at the brunette. Her bulk did not fit in her hut ever since she reached her adult size. She missed sleeping inside and secretly hoped they would enhance the hut so she could fit again. If that was going to happen, they would work on it in summer, Artemis figured. It’s too cold during winter for her handler to sleep in an open hut during construction. Artemis did not wake her, just checked on her. She had a long day of day-patrol behind her this time so she was sound asleep. Artemis liked flying with her but also found joy in taking off on her own sometimes and this was one of those times.
She silently sneaked around the other accommodating huts towards the entrance of the small village. Some Amazons were still up and about. Coming back from a trip, making themselves ready for night patrol or paying a visit to family members, friends or lovers. The entrance guards greeted the strolling stryx by nodding their heads and made way for her. Artemis acknowledged the guards and moved so she could leave the village to have more space to ascent for flight. Everyone in the village knew about Artemis and accepted her presence. It was strange for them at first though since this was the first stryx to join the Nation. However, due to Scyleia being a part of the Nation and therefor taking full responsibility over the dragoness and her care, it was considered for her to stay. As Artemis proved to put effort in working with and for the Nation, they had gotten used to her and valued her being there.
She now had left the village and bent her long neck to the sky above, enjoying the nights breeze. It was chilly but fresh due to it being winter. The sky was clear with only a few stray clouds and she saw the dim light of the moon and stars illuminating the world enough for her to see nicely. She felt content and wanted to explore, fly around the territory a bit.
She patted her feet on the ground a couple of times, spread out her wings and with a powerful kick, left the ground and ascended with a few strokes of her silent wings. She went up over the tree canopies to the spacious sky above. She reveled in the clear and fresh air joined by the relative silence of the night. She heard some other nocturnal animals and even some Amazons scurrying through the trees underneath her. She did not really have a destination in mind, more so just flying through her territory she shared with the Amazons until she would find a nice spot. As she flew, she emanated soft trills and hoots along her way to make her presence known to the Amazons on patrol. They answered with bird whistles, telling her they knew she was there. Artemis liked the communication the Amazons used over longer distances. The whistles made her feel at ease, they were natural for her. She did not know the exact translations but got a vague idea what particular sounds meant. She could distinct between alarm calls and greeting calls for example.
After about two candle marks of flying, she spotted a nice spot in the distance. The top of a big tree was snapped off and showed a thick branch. She assessed whether it was safe to hold her weight and she decided it was. She landed silently as her claws dug into the thick bark. Wings folded in, tail erected for balance as she settled on her new found spot. It was a great spot at that, too. The tree was one of the bigger ones of the forest and she had quite the view. She looked at the tree canopies around her. They were covered in snow and ice, which was rare for the Greek climate. For some reason, this winter was a severe one. Thankfully, the Amazons had stocked quite a lot of food for the community. This winter was her first, she was now almost 3 seasons old, and immediately one with the rare occurrence of snow. She remembered Scyleia explaining snow to her the first time she saw it. She still found it a bit of a strange concept and didn’t fully understand it. However, Artemis wasn’t really bothered by the dropping temperature. She had a thick wintery feathered coat which was very well insulated. Only her feet were a bit chilly in the open air. After she glanced around, checking her surroundings and deciding nothing out of the ordinary was present, her clear green eyes turned up to the sky. She took in the sight that fascinated her so much, the sight of the moon and bathed in its dim light. The moon was slim, not her favorite round shape but she still found it beautiful and was still a bit mesmerized by it. Then, her eyes caught a movement, a slow movement and she focused in that direction. Soft flecks of snow fluttered from the few clouds above her. Artemis inhaled deeply and exhaled, creating a wisp of hot breath in the chilly nights sky. This is the good life ~
