oh my goodness, tysm for making this!! this really helped me get the proportions right on me leggies --- this is my first time making a fursuit, and i was terrified it was going to looks horrible when done. At least I know the legs will look alright, though!

This should prove to be helpful for my Sly Cooper fursuit since it seems he has these kind of legs. (I may have to try a combination of a few of the types that you show since he has such a specific muscle mass on his legs and thighs) I have question though: Can you glue the foam padding to faux fur to keep it in place and then make a seam with Velcro to keep it on yourself?Β

I want to make something like a ferret but I'm not sure how! I've see suits that make the legs look shorter and I don't really KNKW what to doΒ

To make the legs shorter, you use the technique called dropped crotch. All you have to do is add the thigh padding a lot lower on your leg. And instead of having the fur go across your crotch it's around the lowered thighs.Β

Good luck!

I saw your post about digitigrade legs and I wondered if you could help me figure this outΒ
I'll be cosplaying Azir from League of Legends (check the link)Β news.cdn.leagueoflegends.com/pβ¦
and as you can see he's got some rather interesting legs! He's a badass emperor with minions and I want to build digitigrade stilts for this costume to give me that extra height and to be able to make those thin bird legs, but I'm not sure how I should do thisΒ
I've looked up digitigrade stilts and it's just not right.. english is not my native language so I'm having a bit of trouble explaining to you why I'm not satisfied with the shape digitigrade stilts give the legs, but I hope you know what I mean when you compare the stilts to the picture above.Β
Long story short: do you have any advice on how to achieve those bird legs and extra height?Β

i have an idea to make the five-piece foam more breathable. drill small holes in the foam and place some sort of mesh over the holes, much like the air holes in a bike helmet. then put the fur over it. this might help improve air circulation

This was my original idea, soon I ran out of fur fabrics so I have a tail, head, movable lower jaw, and shirt piece. (I still have enough to make gloves I just need time.

The ankle is something I've been struggling with, if you attach it to your shin, is its movement under the fur when you flew your foot really obvious? I didn't think you could attach it to both your shin and your leg otherwise the foam would tear, its seems no one wants to cover this in tutorials!

Thank you for creating this, fursuits are my new hobby and I had some problems with the digitigrade look. I try to make legs that have the illusion but are still slender.

thanks so much for making this reference. though, I do have a few questions.
I'm considering looking either to order one or make one, and the animal I want to use is a kangaroo. seeing how their legs go, would it be anymore different in comfort for that?

Well, it could depend on how the character stands the majority of the time and if it's Anthro or Quad.
A kangaroo's dimensions are alot different, and I'm unsure at the moment how you could effectively do the legs... looking at other's fursuits.. it seems like it COULD work. (I found this example: [link] ) For best results you might try looking into using leg stilts.
But let's see.. this is a quicky from me that might work:
[link]
You might even be able to stretch the dimensions even more.

Thanks, thanks, thanks, thank you so much!! This helped me a lot!!!
Could you please do a tutorial on feet for digitigrade legs? :3

Well, you're welcome!!
And it doesn't matter, I'm sure you'll do it very well, because it looks like you have a lot of knowledge about animal paws and legs. :3
But if you haven't got the time you shouldn't bother yourself on doing it. ^^
