I've always wanted to draw a Fan Art of them like this since I can't find one like it and with the frequent rains from where I'm from inspired me even more to draw it...At first, I thought that it wouldn't turn good as I imagine but I must say, I love how this turned out. It looks way better than I thought I could've done. True, it's not the best, but I love all my art all the same and I am so proud of this!
Since my mouse is broken, I had to drew this all in my laptop's mouse track so forgive me for the uneven lines. The hardest part from this picture for me was amusingly the umbrella and the rain itself. Tried to make it look like rain as much as possible but I don't know... well I think it's okay but I don't know about you guys.
If you're wondering why the umbrella is pink... my brother suggested me to do that. It was originally supposed to be yellow but since Riza's hair is in the same hue, I had to change it and if you're wondering why it was supposed to be yellow well that's because I've mostly got the inspiration to draw this in a Korean Drama titled "Love Rain" hence the title. I won't say any spoilers in that drama so if you're curious, you can watch it on Youtube or elsewhere.
This picture is also in celebration for me attaining 10,000+ page views and this would be my contest entry for #oONoticeMeOo 's Rain contest.

I'm glad to know you think it's cute despite it's flaws. Hands is really something I normally have difficulty in doing. I've always felt like something was off with Hawkeye's face, but it's to late to change it now since this is already saved as the Final picture. But I'll try to do it, next time I draw her. Thanks for pointing it out.
Hmm... as for the noses, I realize that most of the time I add the dot and sometimes I don't by looking at my other art. Lol, it's kinda like a subconscious way of how I draw. Like I said, I'm terrible at drawing hands, sometimes it looks great and most of the time it just looks weird that's why I try to hide it at most times and I know that's bad. Ha ha, so I'll just keep practising on drawing it. I do usually try and look at my hands as reference, in fact that's what I did to draw Roy's hand. I kinda feel terrible because I honestly just got lazy and my head was starting to ache since I've been drawing the picture for quite a long time. So overall, I think I really did rushed doing Riza.
As for the Folder, I didn't really planned on adding that at first. I was supposed to just hide Riza's right hand but sometimes I wonder why I changed it. Probably wanted to practice drawing hands I guess. I'm not sure if I could edit it without ruining the picture so I'll try it next time. Hmm, I'm thinking about doing this traditionally again since it gives me more control on what I'm drawing in a quicker pace (I suffer from Stigma so I can't draw for long since it strains my eyes) and I was originally a traditional artist so I might give it a shot after my midterm exams this week.
Now for the walls, I tend to avoid doing backgrounds as well but I feel like this picture would be best with one. Sorry, if I couldn't draw it straighter, my hands kept shaking. You see, I didn't draw this with a tablet since I don't have one and the mouse I usually use got broken when I was drawing the picture before this. As I stated in this description, This fan art is entirely made in my laptop's tiny mouse track.
Layers, eh? I used Photoshop so I definitely have that feature. But I don't use it often. It's been a habit of mine to draw on one layer since I thought it would be more difficult to fix an error that way so I thought I'll try to avoid making more mistakes this way. But lately, I'm planning on changing that way of thinking and use several layers if it could be for the better. You are right after all, this feature could really help me a lot since I'll be drawing most of my digital arts in my laptop's mouse track, so layers will prove to be a big help in my future drawings.
Ha ha, thanks. Now that I think of it I did put a lot of work in the umbrella the most. It's technically the first time I drew one and I'm surprised it looks decent for a first attempt and I do love drawing their uniforms. But I mostly enjoyed the part of coloring the whole picture though.

Well I'm really glad you are working so hard on a picture even with all those set backs! You really did do a goo d job, especially with that tiny track pad. All I can suggest further is redraw this traditionally and then maybe go over it digitally? Traditional is totally fine, but it will also help you get use to photoshop and how things work in it! And the overall picture will look nicer since traditional drawings are typically artist's strong points.
But keep up the great work!

Honestly, I'm more of a writer than an artist. But since I love to draw, I really have to practice more in drawing to balance it. Even if I don't have a tablet or a mouse I'll still do my best and used whatever I have right now. Also I will try it out, thanks again for the suggestions.

the picture is well drawn and i think its pretty original because of Roy's issues with being "useless in the rain" so I dont really think he would go out much when its raining but i do think he would make an exception for Riza. It's really well drawn better then most I've seen. And the fact that it's RoyAi and im even looking twice is kinda shocking (dont get me wrong they're a good pairing and all i just dont like them together outside of the anime and manga) cuz normally unless they have kids I prefer Riza and Jean as a couple and RoyEd not afraid to admit it. but yea you drew RoyAi without them having kids an it made me look twice...thats the first time so i gotta say its pretty good e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

I'm happy to know you think it's well drawn, It makes me feel that the somewhat long time I've put my effort in making this worth it. This drawing was kinda inspired with the idea of Roy being useless in the rain and I do agree that he would avoid walking outside in rainy days, but I guess in this case he could make an exception to walk Riza home after work... or he might've just forgotten to bring his own umbrella since (I doubt that he owns that pink umbrella) he'll probably borrow the umbrella from Riza after walking her home to get home himself afterwards (or go on a date with one of Havoc's past dates. Ha ha just kidding.)
Although RoyAi is my solid FMA OTP, I've always loved Roy and Riza individually before as a pairing and I also liked seeing them in a Superior and Subordinate kind of relationship, it's what makes them unique to me and that's why I loved them too. I respect your opinions about the pairings as well.

not a problem...i think thats the first critique ive done in like 6-9months...its definetly the only 1 ive done for fma... i dont like writing them cuz of the whole "minimum number of words" but that pic was definetly worth it.

man this is so roy i can imagine this happening in the series the first or the second or both it's so adorable and cute! i am a little confused through as there is no rain.
so i must ask why is it called Love Rain? i do like how close these two are through. Roy looks like he is in heavan and i love it! Riza is awesome being the hard worker and all keepin roy on track with his work.
why they are the perfect pair at least in my opinion. they have been together since childhood after all.

Ha ha, thanks so much for the critique and I'm very elated to know you loved it, but man I think you rated this quite high. But it's alright, I feel really flattered about it honestly~ How I wish this would really happen in either series as well. 
Oh, so you can't see the rain? Ha ha, so my mom's right... she can't see it too so I think I really did made the opacity to low...
There is rain in the picture, but I guess the best way to see is to look at it's full view size. Sorry, I've never drawn something with rain on it and I think I lowered the opacity too much since I thought if I make it a little higher, the white lines might destroy the whole image. Ha ha... Rain is very difficult to draw... 
They are quite a perfect pair, and you're right they've been together ever since they were young and they still kept in touch together until they grew up and that's what makes me love them more. There relationship is based on their Trust, Loyalty and Respect for one another so that's definitely what I call True Love!
Of all the pairings I liked, they're my favorite, they're my OTP. 
~ With that, I love to draw pictures and write stories about them quite frequently. Ha ha~

Ha ha, well I had written part of the story on paper but I haven't got much chance to finish it thanks to college.
Say, I'm just wondering. Have you ever read my FMA story titled, "How to make a date?" It was a story I've written last year and up till now, I haven't finish writing it. It already has a definite ending but it honestly has a couple more chapters in store.
The story is post-brotherhood, with almost everyone from FMA brotherhood is mentioned but it's mainly a funny RoyAi fluff. Maybe if I get a review from you about the story will inspire me to continue it or even just leave it as it is.

While I need to draw more traditional artworks. I already have drawn quite a lot of new traditional ones but sadly I don't have a scanner and it's still storming outside so I can't have it scanned to a shop to be able to submit it here. He he~
Although, you should try and draw digitally too. I don't know about you but I find it more easier to draw in a computer than it is on paper... and it's much cheaper too.
But still, nothing beats drawing a good traditional art~

I've been having the same issues with Hawkeye's face as well, other than her face I think it's also about her hair or something. But I guess it'll do for now since I can't draw any better with a broken mouse and since it's storming outside from where I'm from, I can't buy a new one yet.

Ha ha, Amusingly I've drawn this while it was raining outside. Other than drawing, I find myself writing a lot when it rains as well.
It's rainy season from where I'm from now so sudden storms like this are quite frequent. But I guess I do love watching storms too so it's fun.
