Description Hey there! Here's the first of my "new-watchers-get-a-free-drawing" commission thingies. This one's for Equilibrik who asked me to draw him a custom Gauss Rifle that could be pony operated.

Here's what I came up with, and I'm fairly pleased with it. I'm not a fan of unwieldily big guns like this one, but the original Fallout New Vegas Gauss rifle is needlessly big. Coilguns such as this one would actually be ideal for pony marksmen, seeing as they tend to have comparatively lower recoil, and it would be much easier to implement some sort of auto-loading mechanism without the reciprocating bolt and gas-system found in 'powder-arms.

Decided to try a new style of drawing this time, following this guide [link] which I am utterly pleased with. I think I'll do a few more pics in this style. It's fairly quick, and I like the results, but I'll need to remember to work in a higher resolution next time. This pic's a bit more blurry than I would have liked.

Anyway, onto the next one!

Gosh i want to see what you could do for a pony version of a duel wielding flamethrower and a Cryo gun. would go wonderful for my character. i have been meaning to get a version of him done in the fallout equestrian style. haven't found someone with open commissions for this style of late

Have you read Fallout Equestria: Outlaw, by any chance? There's a prototype of a gun similar to this, and it just so happens to be a big piece of the story. I would highly recommend it. If you're interested, it can be found here > [link]

Good work! I like how you put the scale in by mounting it on a ponnequin. One major issue is with the weapon's name, "Alicorn's Bane" would never have made it past the design stage especially after Princess Celestia was nearly assassinated... To be honest the better name would have been Dragon's Bane simply because the Zebras had enlisted Dragons as a flying combat force...

This was a commission. The title of the weapon was specified by the client. I am not held liable for any breakage of canon, personal or otherwise.

Ah, should have read the image title before posting. Still, love the work and I looks forward to seeing more good things from you!

Ironically a gauss rifle isn't classified as Anti-Material as the Gauss Rifle came long before the Anti-Material Rifle. Also in Fallout Equestria they're referred to Anti-Machine Rifles. Finally your 2D image resembles the Fallout 3 Gauss Rifle however the 3D image resembles the M72 Gauss Rifle from Fallout 1, 2, Tactics and BOS. So which one is it meant to be?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

11meister In reply to Silnev [2012-10-10 23:13:41 +0000 UTC]

Seeing as gauss rifles are at this stage theoretical, and seeing as this one is designed exlusivley to be used against armor and structures (the definition of anti-material) - I have every right to refer to my fictional weapon by such a title. Futhermore, the 3D image was drawn from the 2D image - which was taken directly from Fallout New Vegas. I'm so sorry if my artistic skills arn't weren't good enough to make an exact copy, but I assure you they are meant to be the same. Which one is it meant to be? It's meant to be what Equiliubrik, the commissioner ASKED FOR . An original, custom gauss rifle, named 'Alicorns Bane' And as far as I can see. That is precisely what this is.

i must've hit a nerve. Anyway an original Gauss rifle would be the one from fallout 1.
Side note i think u have an obsession with nightmare moon.

That would be princess luna. Not nightmare moon. And it's not "original" in that sense - It's origional - as in - of my own creation.

wtf in season 2 episode 4 everyone referred to her as Nightmare Moon so I don't know what your going about.
I thought this was commissioned by someone else so technically it's their creation not your's.

We here at Western Equestrian Arms, believe that ships, are big things. And everyone knows how much big things tend to cost. There's nothing more embarrasing than telling you're date you've run out of money, and can't provide them with "a big thing". So to avoid unessacary rejections, the Team at W.E.A are pleased to announce that - in partnership with Aperture Science Inc. TM and Aperture Laboratories TNC, TM - we will be having a long hard conversation with our ship-people - reminding them of the fragility of their skulls and their pension funds.

To aid with shippage, and all assocaited costs and liabilities - W.E.A is also proud to announce that we are currently based in Australia. At least until the pesky Interpol stops sending letters to our premises in Berlin.

This is 11meister. We're done here.

hi, GR here. This Pic looks really good, but if you remember from the other day this Kind of Gun is really heavy and the right side of this pony would still be overloaden, even with o recoil and all - so it wouldn't make sense to carry the ammo-packs on the back, when the pony only carries one of this kind of guns the Ammo would be on the other side ~ left side Gun, right side ammopack with some autofeedbelts going from the box to the gun ~ well in this case a huge batterie on the other side ofc..... like this the heavy weight of the ammo could be used as a counter weight to balance out the pony again ^^.

nonthernless the mechanical aspex of the said things above. I like the design and look of this.

But still thinking to much in human ways ^^, also wat i noticed is that the firing mechanic is missing ~ there has to be some kind of biting-mouthhandle by the ponies head, when they arn't using any Power Armour, it is. A Power Armour can be rigged to the firing mechanism of the Gun someway afterall.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

11meister In reply to nuub3d [2012-09-04 06:47:07 +0000 UTC]

I did consider the issue of balance, but this thing isn't as heavy as it looks. The weapon itself is mostly constructed of aluminium, drilled for lightness, most of the weight comes from the power cells, which I decided to place on the operators' back under the assumption that they'd have saddlebags or some other equipment to carry, which they'd have to place on their other side. As for the firing mechanism, this weapon can only be used in conjunction with either power armour, or a Pipbuck mechanism, as it relies on an electronic trigger which is routed through the red umbilical cable. But thanks for taking to time to analyse my design!

This is excellent, excellent on all counts. You can really get a feel of how BIG this weapon is, something I'm going to emphasize when I get to chapter 7 - 8 of my rewrite or my story. I'm very happy with how this turned out, as for how a pony can carry something that big and lug around this Anti-Materiel rifle [link] , Power armour, my character wears power armour. I like how you showed a pony carrying the weapon, I think I'll make Western Equestrian Armaments a company or a subsidiary company in my story as my small way of saying thanks.
