A unique concept, Sam, and I really like your choice of colors. But what knocks me out is the corridor itself. I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out how you did it (without driving yourself mad), but the siding boards, the graining, and the shadows are perfect. You even gapped them for expansion. Terrific work!

(The cracked boards are a great touch, too.)

Vic, thank you very much. If you apply 3D mapping to the below you can probably figure the rest out. If you'd like the parameters just let me know.

Thanks for that, Sam. Yes, I can think of ways of finishing it off, but the main structure of the boards itself was what I was curious about. The parameters won't be necessary - I normally prefer not to know all the specifics, because that makes it too easy. But I'll say it again - Nice work!

12GO In reply to VicEberly [2011-10-23 22:31:49 +0000 UTC]

You are welcome. The boards came from the basic gradient I pasted in my last note, then applying 3D mapping and adding layers for wood grain and some masking for expansion joints. Actually the lumber only came in 8' lengths thus the gaps. ... I understand about noy asking for parameters as it is more fun to discover on your own.
