Both types of suspension have their names - your M4A2 model has older VSS ( used in most versions ), M4A3E8 got improved HVSS. By the way, after WW2, some older VSS Shermans were reworked to HVSS - you can see one of such M4A1/76 in Patton's museum.

The Sherman may have less firepower and armor, but it is still one of my favorites.
