I saw this creature in a dream once very long ago, and that one ephemeral image led to an epic story idea for me. What's really weird is that I learned (much later, and much to my surprise) that this animal bears an incredible resemblance to an extinct species of synapsid (or mammal-like) reptile called Gorgonops. If Gorgonops had survived into the modern day, might it have looked like this? In the story this creature is sentient, telepathic, and though intelligent has no 'civilization' as we humans understand it.
Update: I have finally found a perfect representation of the Gorgonopsis 'proto-sloth leopard' in this little plastic animal! My vision is complete!!
