Description
Part 2 of art trade withSort of a follow-up to the finale of his MLP Scarecrow fic. Scarecrow won the internal battle, and Jonathon's body was severely damaged when his other self tried to wreak havoc on Ponyville. Here he is in his cell, thinking for a moment on the good things that came with being Jonathon, but Scarecrow is never away for long. He may have been defeated on the outside, but inside he rules supreme.
The hat on the mental image of Scarecrow I mistakenly made a fedora, but I actually like it better that way than the pointed one.

I have to say... the first time I saw this, I cried a little. Not because it's a bad drawing (it's excellent) but because it's just so sad. Seeing Jonathan crying over his "family" while the Scarecrow reminds him that it's too late (though, I like to think Jonathan's just talking to himself) was pretty depressing.
If there's one critique, it's that in the story I described that Scarecrow's skin was now grey due to the burns. Though I consider this some time after his skin had healed so the color really works. I also love how you made his head look like a fleshy skull.
I also love the description you wrote. Though I think I should point somethings out. You're right, Scarecrow did win the internal battle but I tried to write it down more as Jonathan accepting who he really is and "Jonathan" was just the stallion he wanted to be. I hope I didn't make it seem too much like Jonathan has a split-personality because it was meant to be more like Jonathan was just a mask. And his new look is meant to show that now he's the Scarecrow inside and out.
Thank you very much for this trade. Out of all the trades we've done, this is my absolute favorite. I hope we'll see more of the new pony Scarecrow because I love what you did here and I'll be writing a future story where Jonathan makes himself look more like Scarecrow (he'll be wearing white contact lenses instead of glasses and he'll be getting his hair from "another patient").
Big Macintosh: (Looking at the noose around Scarecrow's neck) The... The doctors said that you tried to hang yourself two weeks ago and you haven't removed the cutoff noose since then.
Scarecrow: (Looking at the noose he wears like a necklace) I... I did?
Also, the title you gave this piece: excellent. It gives Applejack's last line more meaning. I also love the cracked mirror (though where he found the strength to do it is beyond me).

Honestly the fur colour was a guess because I tend to forget details, but I'm very glad it was able to work with a stretch of the imagination. I'm really glad that you like this and it brought such emotion out. That's really what I was aiming for.

Actually, Jonathan's fur is supposed to be gone now. All that's left is his skin and it's doubtful that it'll grow back since he was so badly burned.
