I never knew much about the technical aspects of painting, I just had my techniques which seemed to work. I didn't usually thin down acrylics, just used them straight out of the tube. With oils I used linseed oil to thin and turpentine to clean. I probably did a few things wrong. I'd like to return to traditional but stuck in digital for the moment.
Anyways, I do have another question. The linseed oil seems to have seeped out and dried in little drops all over this picture -Β The Red Room . You can see the orange spots on the girls shoulders and bum. Was that just a matter of too much linseed or was there another factor involved?
