you know, the guys who rebooted Battlestar, should take a crack at Buck Rogers... bet they would have a blast with it, just have to remember to add a bit of comedy to Buck's linesΒ

Sweeeeeet. There were many superb spacecraft designs in "Buck Rogers," regardless of how one feels about...well, pretty much everything else.
BIDI BIDI BIDI MY FACE IS THE STUFF OF NIGHTMARES, BUCK
I understand there's a resin kit of the Draco out there, but surely the scale of the kit makes detailing a nightmare, much like the model of the Cygnus from "The Black Hole"--of which there's a beaut of an article at starshipmodeler dot com about how the author almost went insane modding and detailing two kits to make a movie-accurate version of Hollywood's biggest meteor-bowling lane.

As I recall, they were uniquely susceptible to a bomb up the tailpipe.

Don't feel bad, I built one of these too. And I wasn't that much of a kid, as I was already driving at the time. (Well, I had a motorcycle license.)

No, not a model kit....the actual 80's toy that was made by (I think) MEGO.

Ah, MEGO. I remember them. I used to have a number of their 6" action figures. I had both the complete Planet of the Apes and the Star Trek figure sets, and the Enterprise bridge play set. I think I received those in the early to mid 70's. (Maybe 1975-76?) Ah, the good old days, eh?

Outside of the original Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century was my favorite show growing up! The Draconian Marauder and the EDF Starfighter -- two Iconic starships!
