Description
This acrylic painting also features three-dimensional waves in real life. As this is a blast from my high school past, I cannot recall what kind of sculptural paste was applied with a painter's knife to form the waves. This piece can be generally taken to symbolize the struggle to stay true to one's self amidst a turbulent sea of pressure with a darkening atmosphere (as indicated by the lovely yet foreboding sunset). More specifically, I was referring to certain challenges one faces when growing up different than the typical child, such as being gifted. However, such a situation can be applied to any kind of aneurotypical childhood and to situations beyond my original intention.
