Description Eclipse
3dsm for spherizing my planets, rest in photoshop. The shadow cast by the planet should be more divergent, but bleh, I don't care and I like how it looks right now. I hope you like this one.

Edit: border blabla, some work on the shadow, bladibla

I do agree with "WormThing" somewhat.
I don't think the Shadow messes it up that much however. (But like you, it bothers me once reading the comment haha) Perhaps merely make it less defined?

Either, this and your gallery are simply spectactular. You are a brilliant artist.

I would say that the planet in the foreground seems a little... off, maybe a little too flat(?). Everything else, however, is too awesome to ignore.
This is sick.

Heh, thanks a lot. Too flat, you say? I don't see much wrong with it myself, but that probably because I've looked at the image so much already. Do you think it's too flat as in not round enough? Because I can't make it any rounder than it is, for it was spherized in 3dsm. Or is it in the bump mapping?

bloknayrb In reply to 19-10 [2007-07-24 01:58:06 +0000 UTC]

I think its a bump mapping and color problem. But then, I'm not so good at these close-ups either.

Thanks a lot. I looked in your gallery and I found only one and I think our shadows are quite different in style but that might just be me. I really like that crystal planet thing you've going and I like your gallery in general

Beautiful scenery. The last Eclipse I saw was roughly 8 years ago, the solar one, I think. Very impressive piece

Yea I havent seen a lunar eclipse in ages though they are more common in occurance, they aren't as talked about as solar ones, probably why I miss them when they happen

19-10 In reply to devouredex [2007-07-19 16:45:13 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I accidentally witnessed the lunar eclipse I was talking about. I was cycling back home and then I was like, hey, the moon looks strange today and I figured it was a lunar eclipse
Thanks again

The shadow looks very two dimensional, and it has no visible shadowing effect upon the planet's surface. Doesn't appear to be going in the right direction, either, in relation to the sun.

Still, very nice work!
