Out of all the American engines that have been seen operating on Sodor in the franchise, Rosie is the only one who would logically and realistically be there. As such she’s my top favorite American steam engine to have appeared on the show. My only issue with her design is that it looks so toy-like compared with her actual basis. So I’m rather glad to have gotten around to making a profile of her in her authentic appearance. In my headcanon, she’s one of the few engines left-over from the fleet allocated at Southampton Docks. Having worked alongside Thomas’s siblings during that period of time she came to admire their size and efforts, which is how she came to have such a big appeal for Thomas. She also works in Knapford harbor shunting trucks on the quay, and no, she never wore lavender as her paint color and neither do I plan to color her in such a color. In my book she’s an actual tomboy and lavender is not an authentic color for a railway engine to wear.
