To date the newest model in my HO/00 scale collection, the Stirling Single No. 1 is a beautiful model with fine detail and accurate proportions. I consider it the best model in my collection. The Stirling Single is one of the earliest additions to the National Collection, having been added in 1907, when the National Museum was designated the LNER Railway Museum of York. The Stirling Single never appeared in Christopher Awdry's book, but features prominently in the upcoming adaption. In The Great Railway Show, the Stirling Single is referred to as "Sophia" by her shed mates. She is very kind, compassionate and level headed. She is Emily's sole surviving sister and is best friends with Evening Star at the Museum. During Thomas's stay at the museum she welcomes him warmly and stands up for him when confronted by other engines. The model is made by Rapido Trains' UK Division.
