Description I think it goes without saying that Futurama is one of my favorite shows ever. Regardless if it's the classic episodes from the FOX era, the later episodes on Comedy Central or the recent revival on Hulu, I always find something to enjoy about the show. Futurama has had a handful of video games, like the 2003 game for PlayStation 2 and Xbox that's become extremely rare, the Game of Drones puzzle game for mobile devices, and World of Tomorrow, again, for mobile devices, which is a Futurama reskin of The Simpsons: Tapped Out (another game based on a show by Matt Groening). I think the show deserves to get another game, specifically an action RPG inspired by The Outer Worlds, which was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the same people who made the widely beloved Fallout: New Vegas. I think there's some untapped potential for an open-world action RPG set in the Futurama universe with its own unique, non-canon storyline.

The game would be played from a 1st person or 3rd person perspective, similar to The Elder Scrolls and later Fallout games, with the graphics being presented in a cel-shaded style, similar to the 2003 Futurama game and The Simpsons Game. Instead of Fry, Leela and/or Bender, the game would focus on a custom player character, who starts off as a defrostee at Applied Cryogenics, and the player can customize their character's design and pick from various races - human, robot, Decapodian, Native Martian or Amphibiosan, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. (I'd imagine a handful of the presets would be based on one-off characters from "When Aliens Attack", where Professor Farnsworth was about to hire replacements for Fry, Leela and Bender) Like in The Outer Worlds, The Elder Scrolls and Fallout games minus 4, the player character's voice is only heard through grunts. After designing their character, the player is introduced to Terry, who'll consult the player about their background, where the players gets to adjust their starting stats and their star sign, the latter of which come with certain perks. From that point on, the player gets to freely explore the city of New New York, with the city's Tube System serving as fast travel points. Later locations become available when the player joins the Planet Express crew and does the quests that unlock them, which not only includes other places on Earth, but also other planets, like the Moon, Mars, Decapod 10, Amphibios 9, Omicron Persei 8, and so on. Each location has their own share of main quests and side quests offered by various characters (some of which return from past episodes of the show), with the dialogue options affecting their outcome. Basically, it would feel like the player is transported into the world of Futurama, similar to South Park: The Stick of Truth (which was also developed by Obsidian Entertainment). A Futurama action RPG game done in the style of The Outer Worlds would make for a pretty ambitious game.
